I'd like a little repair video then a BIG video on what you would buy instead with the same money. Maybe an old electric neck and a log?

Well, that sounds like a Jay Turser. There's cheap, and then there's Jay Turser. The last one I worked on was so garbage I used it as literal firewood.

Think of it this way... We can't afford Fender custom ship or Paul Reed Smith Artist signature models, I buy my crap at the pawn shop... And turn it into playable crap. After about 6 months of fidgeting, it starts to resemble a decent guitar. Anything you can share to speed up that process would be appreciated. Major points are electronics and frets!

I can’t afford any of that crap either, but luckily I have less than zero interest in new guitars!

I bought a cheap resonator and the well lining that the cone sat on was cocked, so I was never gonna get the action correct unless the biscuit saddle was about 1 inch high on the treble side, or unless I removed the lining and straightened it which is what I did . . . The sound wasn't worth it. But I'd like to see what you do to make this thing play.
@Notaluthier19 сағат бұрын
Initial inspection of the saddle on this one is suspicious (cocked) at best as well

It’s for a client, who wants higher action and heavier strings! The strings are binding at the nut, the neck is bowed, the electronics are loose, and nothing is grounded. It’s both a simple, and not simple job.

@@NotaluthierWhen I was a lad, I bought a Kramer at a local shop that has since gone out of business. It wasn't even being sold as used. This was the first guitar i ever bought from a music store. The one i started on was a no name Les Paul copy i bought from a friend. Anyway, the Kramer had a Floyd Rose system on it and that was the first time I had ever used one. I had always heard they were great. Right away I didn't like it and I couldn't understand why everyone else seemed to. After a few months, the paint on the F.R. started to flake off to reveal nothing but rust underneath.
