Sorry West Ham fans Shaquille O'Neal is almost unknown in the UK and nowhere near as big a name as Ryan Reynolds. I bet even West Ham fans are saying 'WHO?'. And to make matters even worse is the sponsors Wrexham have attracted wont go near O'Neal.

@@anthonyclaughan5620 Until this I had never heard of him and I would bet 90% of the British who are not that interested in Basketball have not either. You sound like an American, they tend to think sports they are interested in are huge when actually there not. Even in countries where the sport is popular it is far behind Football (real football) so far, it’s almost irrelevant. In Spain its popular as it is in Croatia, but in both countries the number of football fans is 20 to 30 times greater. In the UK is not even on the map. I know this is difficult for those outside the USA, but the biggest names are Footballers, Cricketers, Rugby players and Olympic Athletes. Basketball is a poor cousin. A great example of this is when a French magazine took picture of Tom Brady and Lional Messi all over the world and found out less than 2% of people recognised Brady but most couldn’t name him, however 82% recognised Messi the vast majority by name. I am tempted to say “Basketball! whats that, Netball for tall men?” But I won’t.
