The fact is AJ's only win of note was beating an already beaten by Fury and 42 year old Kltichko. After that he had two years in a division in which Fury was on Hiatus, Usyk was yet to enter and they never made the Wilder fight. Once Fury had de-throwned Wilder and Usyk entered the chat AJ never looked like picking up a 3rd World Championship with others being stripped so this was his only chance IMO

You simply cannot take a single thing from Daniel Dubois, he was better in every aspect than AJ. But the major difference wasn’t physical but mental. Dubois fully intended to KO Anthony. That made his job easier. He sprung forward with double jabs and right hand leads and AJ was caught napping- he really believed that Daniel didn’t really mean it when he said he was going to destroy AJ. He believed Daniel would settle for an out boxing by elite Joshua. But Daniel was serious. Deadly serious. And after the first round, AJ realised he had a dynamic young fit strong confident guy in front of him with brimming enthusiasm for getting him out of there. And he couldn’t do a thing about it. WHO in AJ’s camp let them treat Dubois as an easy fight? He’s the hardest fighter in the division right now. Everyone SHOULD have seen that danger against Miller & Hergovic. They didn’t even get heated in AJ’s corner? He was getting a total beat down and they were acting like everything was going brilliantly? Well it wasn’t.
