I'm someone who really enjoys German heavy cruisers, and while they are certainly not for everyone, I do think that 1 star is perhaps a bit excessive. These boats can survive very long with a full tank build, and this leads to a lot of damage over the course of the game. I play my Black Hipper as a 2nd line support ship and I average 67k damage, a 70% WR and a KD of above 8. I do think the secret to playing them well is avoid trading your hit points for the first half of the game, and disengage from time to time to restore your health. Once some of the enemies are gone, you can start playing more aggressively and closer to the enemy. While they aren't high end for the majority of the players, they can teach everyone something about cruiser gameplay.

Yes, Eugen was a tough one, I really hesitated. The playstyle is explained as you describe it. In the end, I gave one star as it’s too close to Hipper and mainz is simply the better choice at T8 IMO. I didn’t really see any reason to put that much gold into it.

For me, the only reason for getting her - now that I own Black Hipper - would be for historical reasons, since Prinz Eugen is probably forever the last major warship carrying an Austrian name. And she's really beautiful 😍 that clipper bow and raked funnel cap really gets me

Thx for a great video. But on the Lo Yang I have a different opinion. I have both, the Benson and the Lo Yang. But Lo Yang has a turret less, which turns it rather useless in knife fights with other dds.

tirpitz is a near carbon copy of the bizmark. the armor, resistances, guns, and secondaries are the exact same. accuracy, damage, range, flight time, sigma, everything. you get torps in exchange for slightly less mobility, conceal, and aa defense. thinking it's straight worse is just placebo.

What you're saying about the Tirpitz is completely wrong (according to cic you only loose 236 hp, you need only 1 sec extra to accelerate and .3 seconds in the turn and less aa damage which doesn't matter. everything else is the same as Bismarck). It's a Bismarck with torpedoes. Is that worth the gold though? Don't think so

I was surprised as well but unfortunately, empirical testing is clearly showing it’s less precise, less punchy and takes more damage. I would never make any statement without having verified it first in a training room, my subscribers know that. Of course, you are free to believe what you want, but if it indeed was a Bismarck with torpedoes, I would have recommended it without hesitation. Unfortunately, it’s not…

⁠​⁠@@deathfromabove432 it’s definitely not a Bismarck with Torpedoes. If you have both ships , I do (Bismarck 700 battles 71% ) you know it’s (Tirpitz) weaker. Also DFA is 100% regular subscribers know how accurate his statements are regarding ship characteristics.
