An apocalyptic scenario that primarily only effects one of the sexes can work. Like just the idea of it now being impossible to reproduce as the species slowly dies out is interesting. LISA the Painful RPG has this sort of idea. Not with zombies, but just with some unknown condition that wiped out all the women in the world. Everything starts going Mad Max as the remaining men come to terms with their limited time before extinction, until the protagonist Brad finds a baby girl alone in the wasteland. There's no sign of a mother anywhere and Brad takes it upon himself to raise the girl and try his best to keep her safe, since he knows all the horrible things that would happen to her if she was discovered by the swarms of sex starved insane men who might outright kill her, try to keep her as a slave or attempt to "repopulate" the world. The story is pretty dark and tackles a lot of deep subject matter relating to abuse, addiction, sexual assault, suicide and so on. It is pretty engaging though.

Im from the UK, the phrase "In the doghouse" is common here, but only means "In trouble with their partner" the other bit about it being a super dope place is just false. Heard the term used plenty of times, and is referencing that they have been kicked out of their house and bow have to sleep in the dogs kennel

I decided to look up Noel Clarke, who played Mikey in this movie and Mickey in Doctor Who, and found that this guy with a relatively small acting career has 4 completely separate characters he has played named some variation of "Michael". Something about this guy's face must just make screenwriters think "This guy looks like a Mike"

There’s a book series I read in middle school that has the adults turn into the infected leaving the kids under the age of 16 unaffected. I believe it’s “The Enemy” series by Charlie Higson. It was an interesting concept for 2009!

I have been looking for the name of it and thought the entire time that it was a fever dream I had in school. I remember how one adult was operating a school bus and was still alive and not affected by the virus when he picked up the protagonists until it revealed he had been cannibalizing children because they were immune to the virus until it didn't work out for him and he became infected anyway.

Dude I've NEVER met another person who's read that The Enemy series!!! I read em in late middle school and they're still some of the most enjoyable zombie fiction I've read. The journey of the characters and how they deal with the horrible world around them is genuinely awesome, and I remember especially loving Ed and the one edgy loner dude (shadowman? Idk anymore). One thing that's stuck with me is the kid listening to ABBA, his mom's favorite singer, as St. George breaks in. It's just tragic

If anyone glues anything to you, one good thing to try is nail polish remover. Just soak it in the remover, and it should come off. Can't verify it won't damage the material though.

Yup! Although I'd be careful with any cuts. If it's stuck in exposed flesh it's gonna BURN LIKE HELL, but it will remove the glue.

Damage material? I would be worried about it being absorbed by my skin pores and getting me all fucked up and high off of acetone. I mean this is actually pretty decent advice don't get me wrong. The next time I have something stuck with glue I'll use acetone slash nail polish remover. Which I use it all the time to clean my smoke bowls. But I'm always careful with how long I keep my hands stuck in it because I don't wanted to absorb into my skin or get a chemical burn. Never mind the fumes. And I know it's technically safe enough to be used as nail polish remover, but that's for the nails. Not direct contact with skin. In Lowell Mass for a short period of time, not a problem. A bigger amount enough to where you can sit your finger in it for a longer period of time to get a ring off, I don't know about that. I mean, maybe it's better than leaving the rink glue to the finger, but I can't help but wonder if you leave it sitting there for too long if you're going to get some sort of chemical high or chemical burn.

Y'know, this could've actually been a really solid zombie movie if it played its premise completely straight, rather than making for the lowest common denominator. Leave the bus driver uninfected, make protecting her something that gets a few of the men killed or gravely wounded before she realizes she's not in direct danger from any of the infected and she's been letting the men risk themselves for her for no reason. Let Mikey have some genuine emotion regarding his gran's death, go so far as to have her die because she hesitates in attacking him. Let the womanizing prick be the initial leader of the group, only to have his plans lead them into increasingly bad situations and make it clear he's using everyone to keep himself alive; let him get eaten in the harem room, though, I think that was a good idea. I would make it a bit clearer the rest of the group is done with him by this point and no tears are shed at his death. Change the reason the group is coming together a bit; it's not because the one friend is recently divorced, it's because his ex-wife has successfully sued for full custody of their kid, and his friends are worried about him being alone after that. Give the gay dude more positivity in his relationship; it's healthy and his boyfriend encourages him to be there for his friend. Make his self-sacrificing nature more evident throughout, so him staying behind to distract the zombies is tonally consistent. Make the guru friend a bit more evidently dumb but well-meaning. He shouldn't be married, he should be thriving doing this even if it's clear his mantras are completely asinine and useless. Comics dude should be the decoy protagonist; we see him as the polar opposite of womanizer bro, maybe he's not an ass to the bus driver, maybe he's quieter and more reserved than the others. Womanizer Bro doesn't like him, and leaves him for dead midway through, only to be rescued by the tardy friend later, the revelation that he survived being what ultimately causes the group to fracture. I don't think any story is inherently bad, but I do think most comedies ruin good stories this way. This could've been something good and instead it's just ammunition for a specific type of women to hate men. Wonderful.

Conceptually, having 2 movies come about about What if a virus only affected females? And What if a virus only affected males? Would be really interesting, to tackle how society could be effected in these different ways as a specific gender is drastically dropped in population, as well as the actual biological likelyhood of a virus attacking genered bioligical weaknesses. This being said.. it would be very hard to do this genuinely and sincerely these days 😬

Ngl this terrible terrible movie falls into the so bad it's good category for me 😅😅 It's an awful, cheesy, shut your brain off and laugh guilty pleasure in my house. Could it have been an interesting concept? Absolutely but it feels rushed with little plot threads being introduced only to go nowhere. It has many problems but I can't help but enjoy it Also, at 21:46 the music is the Match of The Day theme tune 😊😊

To be honest this would be a way more interesting movie the other way around since a lot of the time males are stronger and faster than females. Play on the fear of males having an extra aggressive mutation and this would be an epic movie.
