You have to take into account water table and flooding are major factors to divert water away and eliminate humidity and mold. Have a plumbing leak, you need to break the solid surfaces to get to pipes. Above ground is prefered because it is cheaper, and easier and more familiar to repair. There has been a movement in part of New Zealand of underground bunkers built by the wealthy incase of emergency beneath their seasonal mansions. But it is a very sustainable design for some locations, eliminating all need for A/C indoors.

If I was in your position and I really wanted to back-up my point of view, I would give up my home for the birds, regardless of the costs and detriment this would cause my children and spouse, or economic damage to my community. 10:43 Amazing that a whole Chinese building style was “inspired by the sport of parkour”. Think I’m going back to the BBC for my documentaries.

That's not exactly what they said.

@@cattymajivWell, it kind of was: parkour and the terraced fields of Asia he said. So 50% responsible 🙄

Were it not for this unique video, I could not have gained new insight & even its existence about these rather pleasantly idiosyncratic & intriguing houses around the world. Especially, those Chinese architectural marvels whether hanging at the side of the vertical cliff or the ultra-modern buildings in the city simply amaze me w/ astonishment, or am I an exceptional?,,,,Soundly enjoyed & appreciated it to the core at the opulent comfort of my residence in California. These are very fun and innovative housing complexes. They are certainly inspirational spaces to live in. Enough with the square corners already, World! Let’s imagine it and go there!

The houses are called 'Bolwoningen' and to be seen in the Dutch town of Den Bosch, between the typical brick-clad houses and winding canals.

Thank you for sharing that! I love how they add a unique and modern touch to the historic charm of the town. It must be quite a sight to see!

Those interested could also look up 'kubuswoningen rotterdam'. These are also very unusual.
