Pretty much everything DVO pre 2025 is heavily discounted still but stocks are getting low, lots of diamonds left iirc. I'm loving the onyx 36 SC D1 ott and 38 D1, I would probably have skipped these forks at full retail (1500$ Canadian rubles) but for the price of a Psylo I'm in love.

@@OtterMTBtech No joke man, everything you put out seems very authentic and right on the mf titties lol! It's refreshing to see something that's not over scripted and otherwise feels like marketing too. I can only imagine what it takes to put together and produce what you do, it has to be a huge commitment with time alone not to mention the gear you acquire. Ill stop mid video on anyone else just to watch yours when I get a notification. Its like a virtual hangout with a cool buddy that's really knowledgeable. Keep up the badassery!

The cone valve is interacting with the ports on the rebound piston sitting on a spring, (helicoidal spring) to replace the midvalve shim stack. The cone shape has the advantage of offering a clear path for the fluid to follow, since as the liquid becomes turbulent pressure differentials create cavitation, which is the number one enemy here, a well tuned cone valve would theoretically eliminate turbidity and cavitation.

Great video! 👏🏻 And yes, I've always thought/heard/saw the correct sag setup is by standing on the bike in "attack" position 😄 then jumpy jumpy to cycle the suspension at least 3 times, then set the o-ring and step off the bike veeery carefully.

Mate, I never would've thought of buying a DVO if it wasn't for you. Now they're definitely on my radar, but it's a shame they don't have a good presence in Victoria, Australia.

I've ridden a buddy's new ktm dirt bike with the aftermarket wp cone valve suspension. It's genuinely incredible, if I had to explain it felt like the shim stack was dynamic if that even makes sense. The dampening would feel good in more conditions than it traditionally should have, speed bumbs and rutts weren't over dampened but big g outs off the jumps weren't under dampened. I came from yamaha's kyb SSS which has a custom tune for my weight, you could just tell the tech in the cone valve suspension was working magic even if it wasn't tuned like my traditional suspension. Big dragback though is they're known for having short service intervals before performance starts getting inconsistent. 15-20 hours, my buddy gets his done every month with a track day or race every weekend.

Hmm, I just looked into this fork. I have heard the name, but I hadn't seen a review. They are available separately. I like that there is another offering besides the very well known Fox and Rock Shox. There are some others, but the price of these seem very reasonable. Side note, I don't really know if I would want to go much smaller than a 36mm for 160mm and above, but that probably depends on the design of the stantion mounts and crown for the slider. Though diameter would help. Weight is also a factor, so who knows, I haven't ridden forks with that much travel. I have only been on a personally owned 130mm. I have only test ridden bikes with more travel than that.

Hi! Just discovered your incredible efforts on our behalf. Best anywhere, ta! Now, a suggestion: what do you think of the True Tune Flow: it goes on the air-side (it’s not expensive + you’ll need to try it as it’s ‘physics’ are barely credible). I have an old 2021 Fox 38 Performance (Factory E-Bike tune for my SC Bullit at 170). I took out the standard 4 tokens and replaced 3 of those with the True Tune for the 38 (so True Tune Flow + 1 token). It’s meant to bring: “Better small bump compliance, increased mid-stroke support and end stroke absorption”. It’s transformed my Fork from a chunk/breaking bump hating arm-pump generator into a sweet carpet. At £85 in the U.K., it’s a great value for money. It’s of greatest value at fast big-hit bike parks, for example the Atherton’s Dyfi Bike Park in North Wales. It’s supposed to do something with absorbing air somehow using activated carbon: sounds like hocus pocus, but is well reviewed and definitely worked for me better than any of the meagre tuning option on my basic fork: no need to upgrade from three position “Grip” compliance to Grip X2 and at 1/4 the price! www.tftuned.com/flow-mtb-air-fork-upgrade/p4174

@@OtterMTBtech the mod would also be interesting, great sensitivity, mid and end support and very noticable comp and reb range but i only have an old super deluxe air as a reference. some extra information, that can be usefull The CTS valves are also very easy to reshim for even more tuning possibilities and if you happen to get one with air in the oil, the way you bleed them is like you would sram brakes with 7,5wt oil.

What you described has a shimstack is on the wrong side of the piston to create any compression damping. I will bite my tongue but clearly don't think any less ... As for the cone valve, in simple terms it is a refined poppet valve, nothing more. So instead of having shims (basically spring washers) deforming as oil flows to allow more or less oil to flow as it uncovers the piston piston ports, here you have a cone and a coil opening and closing those ports. The idea is that a cone shape offers better flow than a standard poppet. In the MX world if you ride a conevalve you change cone shape and coil stiffness to tune your fork instead of changing shims like in a conventional fork. Cone valves are famous for offering good support (basically loads of LsC) and then blow off when big impacts happen in order to keep composure and grip. In a normal fork this would only be possible with a preloaded stack to have a digressive HsC damping curve. It seems that the conevalve doesn't sacrifice comfort as much as a preloaded stack to achieve something similar.
@picassoimpaler3243Ай бұрын
A cone can give you different flow depending on shaft speed vs a poppet which is largely open or closed. The port essentially enlarges as the cone moves. I was hoping WP would bring their tech to MTB eventually, sucks it's only available with a full bike only. But it would be even cooler if they provided different cone profiles and spring rates along with it. Or at least springs. I can just mill the cone myself if needed.
