WPAT AM FM Dec 1980 Airchecks

WPAT AM-FM Dec.1980 Airchecks (no video, just audio).
This is the tape recorded December 1980 of WPAT AM on the left channel and FM on the right as
broadcast over the air but converted to mono so you can hear the news, weather and commercials from both stations during the 2 hour period from about 9:30AM to 11:30 AM.
The news covers the Iran Hostage Crisis, transition from President Carter to President Elect Regan, John Lennon Burial and sports of the day.
The FM was broadcast in Stereo but is in mono here in order to capture AM and FM with one stereo recorder.
WPAT was 930 on the AM dial, and 93.1 on the FM dial. Hence WPAT 93 AM and FM!
Voices heard are Ken Lamb, Herb Barry, Jonathan Schwartz (Ronzoni Ad), Mick Rich, (Mike Master?) and others.

This is my grandparents house listening to music. WPAT was a wonderful station and I remember some of these commercials. I wish we had a few hours of the songs.

There are streaming stations today that are quite similar. KNCT is about the closest, followed by "Jones College Radio" formerly WKTZ. Links to these stations and streams are on my "Internet Jukebox" website sites.google.com/site/inetjukebox/ Remember, WPAT would always update the music played with current material yet playing old favorites. So you might hear some new instrumental covers of current songs as well. KNCT sounding most like what WPAT would sound like today.
