The bubbling did get worse but the reel still functioned like new. Unfortunately that reel sunk to 300 feet. I bought another so lets see if this reel has any issues with the finish.

top review here buddy, the reel looks like its doing a pretty good job and well worth the value for money, I've heard nothing but positive feed back on this brand and particularly this model. $260 is well worth the buy in my opinion brother, tight lines...

I would not be OK with that amount of corrosion in 18 months. Do you thoroughly wash your reels after use?

Do you think the Speedmaster 25 could handle 100-200 lb class bluefin tuna?

I can’t speak from experience but I don’t see why not. I would probably go with a Talica 25 or 50 instead.

That’s a pretty reel! Nice review Wayne. Is there any preventative measure that can be taken to avoid that bubbling? Like a coat of clear coat when it’s fresh out of the box?

I never really understood cleaning conventional reels, so can i basically just spray a hose on it to clean it or is there more to it?

Wish it was cheaper but Totally agree about the inch per turn dude, that's y I prefer my 8500penn 42in per turn for a spinning reel. And I've high horses a good bull shark up no prob,I've used the speed master on some kings and snaps last year and loved it. So so smooth!

Nice monster reel!! Something you may want to try to stop that type of corrosion... may want to wipe your reels down with a rag lightly sprayed with corrosionX spray that stuff is the best I use it all the time for everything. 👍

@CProFishingWithWayne3 жыл бұрын
You might be right but I love them so far. I’ve spoken to many top notch charter captains who prefer the Talica.
@fadelover1233 жыл бұрын
@@CProFishingWithWayne haha, I hope you realize almost all charter captains are either sponsored by shimano or trying to get a sponser by Shimano, they have to say good things about these reels. Shimano reels are made to feel smooth in the shop so more people will buy them thinking it's the best, but this is because shimano used brass gearing and absolutely no grease. I've broken more talicas than any other reel, they suck. I've broken handles, had reels get so corroded that you could not use them anymore without spending $200 just in part replacements. And the frame goes to hell with shimanos EI coating, which is basically a cheap way to skip anodizing and scratches just by looking at it. They use some cheap carbon drag called "cross carbon" which absolutely sucks and breaks down after a couple large fish. Dude I'm not telling you to promote some other reel brand, legit talicas are a waste of time and money. If I could post pictures on youtube I would show you the hell I've been through with these reels..
