This actually looks like a mix of stuff from, I think, 1984 or 1985 mixed in with stuff from late 1987 (when it was sold and the branding changed to "PHL17"). In fact, judging from the promos you seem to have actually gotten the transition period from Great Entertainer to PHL17, because both styles seem to be in use simultaneously. Still, given that Great Entertainer-era 17 is SO hard to find, THANK YOU for posting this.

How cool is it that AntennaTV is using the "Great Entertainer" logo in its on-screen bug?! (WPHL is the Philadelphia affiliate of AntennaTV.) I noticed the logo yesterday morning.

I think WPHL 17 got the rights to all the old shows from WKBS 48? That was also a great station.

Wow, thank you, Stevations for this sampler of channel 17 from back in the day. I never thought I'd miss local programming and the cheap and cheesy commercials for local businesses.

THe Webster episode mentioned at the 9:40 mark aired originally on 1/18/1988. From 1987-89, Webster's last two seasons were in first-run syndication, having migrated there from ABC. So it's a mix of 1986 and 1988 at least

"The merchandise hits you right in the eye." Sounds painful. The Coronet commercial is cute. Rosemary Clooney was so special.
