Excellent tips and advice, Wendy thank you. I always make my own cards for friends and relatives, I think it makes it more personal. I do the same, when I have a painting that has one of those areas that are not agreeable, I find the area that I do like and make it fit into a 3 fold aperture card. I also mount my paintings onto the front of blank cards, which also looks effective. I have to now make time to begin my Christmas cards! Thanks again for your lovely channel and beautifully narrated help and advice.

Thank you for these lessons. I love the close ups and taking notice of the way you hold the brush. The wet into wet is magical.
@WendyPowellJones3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback....wet in to wet is what makes watercolour special....not too tricky just needs practice 😀👍

Looks beautiful, and simple, but I'm sure takes practice. Very inspiring, must try this.

Yes it does take practice but that is what should be enjoyable....😀

Very nice work! The only thing I find a bit odd is green foliage on the trees in a snow scene. If I try this I think I'd go with evergreen trees and their rather conical shape
@WendyPowellJones3 жыл бұрын
Yes....good comment. The trees are brown though and the brush marks are meant to stand for twigs not leaves. Perhaps works better wet into dry in that respect. I did think about having a go with green conifers myself....enjoy your painting 😀

dear Wendy, best compliments for your skill and suggestions. I tried hard to copy some beautiful effects but especially with salt i cannot make it. In my kitchen I ve got iodized salt veryy thin..does that works? Couse I cannot do the salt effects, the paper is wet, I put the salt on but nothing happens. The salt stay there and stop...I would like to do those flocks effects but it doesn't work..Some lovely suggestions? tks a lot. Greetings
@WendyPowellJones3 жыл бұрын
I use ordinary table salt.....Make sure the paper is wet with plenty of pigment..maybe you need to mix your paint stronger? Experiment with small areas. God luck and enjoy 😀

I can't believe how hard it is to find aperture cards in the US.
@WendyPowellJones2 жыл бұрын
That’s odd isn’t it….you must have tried Amazon. If anyone reads this comment please give us some info and I will try to mention it on my next video in a few weeks when I shall be using them again for a Xmas card.

@@WendyPowellJones Thanks. I did try Amazon and no luck. The shipping from UK for example is more than the cards.
