An honest review of this product is badly needed. I'll get straight to the point for those who don't wish to read a long piece. DON'T BUY THIS TRUCK UNLESS YOU PLAN ON OVERHAULING THE ELECTRONICS SYSTEM. The steering is nearly completely useless and unless you're one of the very few lucky ones, the steering will completely fail not long after you start using it. The truck will not last beyond a few runs at best without a major overhaul. Now as for upgrading the electronics, keep in mind that the entire driveline is made of extremely light and brittle plastic. If you add voltage or torque to the drive motor, you will break the driveline. Mine was broken before I even took it out of the box. It appears that whoever put my truck together forced the shaft into place and the sleeve that accepts the metal drive shaft from the motor, cracked in half. Everybody who has one of these reports the same problem; The driveline is too weak to perform without failing, even if you don't swap out the electronics. It's worth mentioning that there's no bearings anywhere and the wheels don't even have spacers or collars. The plastic cups, dogbones and mounts are too brittle and thin to last. I expect this to be the next failure on my truck. The thing is that this truck is not hobby grade in any way other than looks. If you do no upgrading at all this truck will become useless junk in a short order. If you do upgrade the electronics, you'll have a weak truck that will break in multiple places from just normal use. Incidentally, I was crawling my truck up a 1.5 ft slope onto a chair seat when the cardboard slipped and the truck fell straight down, landing squarely on all 4 wheels, and yet the mount that holds the leaf-spring on the right rear wheel broke in half. Ya, it's that cheap. The only real way to make this truck sturdy enough for light duty crawling fun is to overhaul basically every plastic part on the entire truck -excepting the body and bed. When you've spent several hundred dollars replacing all the cheap junk in this truck, you'll surely be wondering why you didn't just buy something from a reputable hobby car maker in the first place. Add it all up and you'll see what I'm saying - the truck might have cost you anywhere from 25 to 100 dollars depending on where you bought it. Then your new radio system will run you another 50 bucks if you buy some cheap transmitter/receiver combo plus the servo. Now you need a new battery too. More money. Now you realize that the driveline is no good... how much does a hobby grade driveline cost? Whew, too much for me. This truck is touted as being a low cost introductory model to rc crawling. It is not. (I apologize for the wall of text, but for some stupid reason this website won't allow me to break this up into paragraphs.)

It's single speed and 4wd out of the box. There are quite a few upgrades you can perform on it to add power and improve durability, but out-of-the-box, it's not a bad little truck.
