Ever since the 60A ESC went in, this truck has literally left my jaw dropped so many times when I've had it out. I give a lot of credit to the wheel and tire combo, too. Well, the entirely "slightly" modified truck, itself, yes. But the ESC just lit the whole thing up like never before. Going to finally glue these beadlocks. Did you catch that the left rear popped out?

As you can see, I spent some time out there just running trucks every weekend, coming home and making ASMR vids. It was definitely a thing for me for a few years. Now that I'm in IL for a while there's not much to drive on. Just trail stuff. Minimal rock crawling within short drives.

For all the time that goes in, definitely! It took a couple of tries to get this one just right.The 60A ESC is really what pushed this thing to the next level. It made good use of the higher Kv RGT 370 motor I put in it last year.

Amazing crawl love how that engine works I gave a similar experience I took mine out of a fc model f1 jeep that was too fast in the jeep to get it to crawl now I can't keep my truck going all the time thou I wonder is it's my esc
@VermontScaleCustoms2 жыл бұрын
I think those stock WPL escs have a max output of 10-15A. You may want to upgrade to a 40A or 60A ESc in order to handle the load. It's probably stalling the motor for lack of current. Which could possibly affect other functions. I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with your binding issue, though.
@benjamincloutiermainerc2 жыл бұрын
@@VermontScaleCustoms I found out I had hair in my front right tire all bound up I am going to try and find a 60 a esc it would give me more options as well as I think the 60a has a winch input and sound I like the sound mods gives it a realistic sound in slow motion
@VermontScaleCustoms2 жыл бұрын
@@benjamincloutiermainerc I don't know much about WPL electronics since I don't run them in any of my stuff. But I do know they updated their main V3 electronics ESC. That's the one that has built-in winch control and sound output. A 60A ESC doesn't come with that sort of functionality. You would need to get a good 4 or 6 channel radio and transmitter setup to handle all that extra function.
@benjamincloutiermainerc2 жыл бұрын
@@VermontScaleCustoms they sell the v3 with controller and sound system and a winch but as I see that I should go with a 60a but I need to find one that isn't for a 1 /10right
@VermontScaleCustoms2 жыл бұрын
@Benjamin Cloutier nah, the 60A is perfect for the 1:16 scale. I used to think the same thing until I tried it in my C54. It changed everything about how it drives. It gave the motor so much more current to work with as well as usable throttle, etc. I'll honestly never run WPL electronics just because I have switched almost everything over to 40A or better in all of my WPL trucks. The two trucks I have with 60A in them are absolute beasts. If you're into trailing and running in the backyard, you're fine with the WPL electronics, in my opinion. In my opinion, if you want to take it to heavy load rock crawling where low speed and holding throttle position and having the ability to micro adjust is essential then you need to go aftermarket. I'll argue that with anyone all day long. I use a FlySky transmitter for all my WPL rigs and my Redcat Gen7. The modulation is better than anything else I have, Axial included. And they make nice electronics fresh out of the box. I mean, all in all, a lot of people run V3 electronics and swear by them. I have only had one V3 board and I cooked it last winter along with (2) 2-speed motors. I've never had that kind of luck with anything else so I just go with what I know. I don't want to steer anyone wrong or off a path they think they should be on. Which is sort of why I don't generally make recommendations of what to run. It's all so uniquely built that it's tough to say what works well for would work well for anyone else.

Thanks for the info bro, I will try this setup.
@VermontScaleCustoms2 жыл бұрын
@@morrisrc Nice, I think you'll like them. I've run these on all kinds of surfaces at this point and they're awesome! I cut the Injora/MN foams down about half and it gave the center fo the tire just enough to hold it up. The corners and sidewalls still have enough to compress when necessary. I will say that I have popped the bead on the left rear a couple of times since building the set. I plan on gluing them to stay because I don't see the reason to run anything else on this build.

What size is that tyre…so hard to find 1/16 scale tyre
@VermontScaleCustoms3 ай бұрын
Fayee tires on Injora plastic beadlock rims, glued beads. If you google Fayee tires, they pop up all over the place. Truthfully, the compound is less than stellar compared to all the others out there but it works for this truck due to the lack of size options like you said.

What tires are you using and rims
@VermontScaleCustoms9 ай бұрын
Cheap Fayee tires on plastic beadlocks from tinyurl.com/4ra9r2pe - I can hardly recommend them if you're looking for ultimate performance. They look the part but the rubber is awful. Way too hard. Looking forward to finally switching to 5-to-7 MM adapters and using stuff from the 24 scale trucks. They make 1.2 and 1.3 rims and tires. The whole world just expanded for these trucks.

That is from an RC4WD Gelande II 1/18 D90, my friend. It’s actually the front bumper off that rig and got screwed right on to this as the rear. It’s also metal which is nice.

@@VermontScaleCustoms cool. Thanks. I been building and modifying my c24 . I just had to paint it nato green like yours. Got a 3d printed ESC tray from Liang RC . @@darrenmackenzie1645 Thanks for being a continual supporter of the channel. That is very much appreciated. C24's are fun to mess around with. I love that green machine. I need to get it out and run it again soon. The axles on this thing are pretty good. I usually tear them down once a year and tighten everything, lubricate, loctite, and rebuild. They're going on 3 years old and haven't given up yet. They're the boxy heavy duty with round diff, not the square one. Now that I'm more familiar with fabricating frame links, I may try and see what I can come up with for a C44 comp rig. I see a lot of potential in that chassis being forward weighted.
