Thanks for the tutorial Bjorn. I have one comment which may be wrong as I haven't used the plugin, but the convention is that it is improper to use flags as a language indicator. It is preferable to have the name of the language IN the language, if you follow. So English, Español, Deutsch etc. As I say, I don't know if you can have a 'no flag' option with this plugin. For those wondering why flags are frowned upon as a language selector, take the German example. What is referred to as the DACH region of Europe, includes Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and German is spoken in all three states (French, Italian, and Romansh are also official languages of Switzerland). If one were Austrian for example, would it not irritate to have to click on a German flag for your language? It bugs me that I have to click on a UK or USA flag for English, when I am based in and from Ireland (though I do speak four other languages!). The flag issue is an international convention, not just some idiosyncrasy of mine. It may be of little concern to many people, but business websites should consider the point I have raised. Danke schön Bjorn - I always look forward to your new videos. Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Colin

Hi Colin, that is a great point! I've honestly never considered it. I knew about Switzerland having multiple national languages and multiple countries speaking German, but I've just never thought it through. I don't believe this plugin will display the language name in the langauge chosen.

Same goes with Spanish. Spanish from Spain (Castilian) is not the same Spanish in Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, Nicaragua, etc. Maybe they should use a flag with just a generic world globe on it. I made suggestion to the plugin creator. Let's see

that's a neat plug in, question does it have Quebec French on that list of translations or do I have to download the plug in to find out?
@wplearninglab5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, All of the plugins that do this machine translation (Weglot is another one, I have a tutorial for that one here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZytcn9ulttkqqc ) use the Google Translate API. So all of the languages you are at translate.google.com should be available for the 'machine' translation. I hope that helps and thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any further questions :)

I want to translate web shop with 50 products from spanist to english. Should I pay every month some plan or its enough to pay 1 month and translate pages?
@wplearninglab5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mario, With this plugin you have to continue paying to keep the translated pages live. This model probably only makes sense if you're regularly adding new products or other content. But... What you could try is get the translations from this plugin then use the Polylang (free) plugin (tutorial here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6GplaCwjKh5iMU ) to create the pages in English. Then you don't have to continually pay. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Nice video. Why not you convert all your video in blogpost. May be you can able to generate millions of visitor per month like wpbeginners.
@wplearninglab5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sartul, I'm working on that, but it's not easy to find good writers. WPBeginner has a great team of writers and they publish 1 post a day (maybe more).

@@wplearninglab I am from India, many people does not understand english. Therfore there is a lack of good writer in India. But in America everybody speaks english. All you need is to find those guys who are interested in writing and hire him as a full time job on monthy basis or in share. I think one single person working 8 hrs a day can able to write 4-5 post daily.

I was very excited about this plugin, until realizing that I can only translate one word at a time. It would be more useful if could at least do a paragraph at a time, as in Spanish the grammatical format of a word changes depending on the context, and it is impossible exactly what sentence you are editing. For me this was not useful at all.
@wplearninglab5 жыл бұрын
You should be able to translate full sentences and paragraphs in the dashboard. The plugin will translate blocks of text with an element. If all of your elements contain only individual words (which is unlikely) then you would have to translate each with word individually. Have you checked out the free trial to see how it does on your site?

@@wplearninglab not sure if it's because I have Elementor, but the dashboard only generates the English version when attempting attempting to edit. Only the menus appear in Spanish. I'm using the free version of the plugin as well as of Elementor. Thanks in advance for your help
@wplearninglab5 жыл бұрын
That's strange, it should pull in all the text on the Elementor page, not just the menus. The first thing I would do is make sure that all your plugins, theme and WP core files are up-to-date. I know it sounds strange, but conflicts with out-of-date add-ons can cause all kinds of problems.
@littleloudshoes5 жыл бұрын
@@wplearninglab @WordPress Tutorials - WPLearningLab I checked to ensure my plugins are up to date. I checked out your earlier video using the Polylang plugin, and added thePolylang Connect for Elementor as well. It seems that this is exactly what I needed. I'm currently duplicating the pages in Spanish, and will work from that. I will update you when done. Btw, the Spanish in the ConveyThis and Google translator are pretty terrible [yikes!]. I would advise that unless the user understands Spanish and is able to edit it manually, not to use it. I wanted to THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to respond to my inquiry. So often, viewers have questions, and they go unanswered--although I also understand you can't possibly answer every question. You definitely have a new fan :)
