It is mostly luck but a lot of aggression at the right times also. Most aggressive players don't understand that. They get bored if they don't raise every hand and they do great and then hit a wall. Poker skill is knowing when to and not to raise or fold. Having a good sense for the game and who you are playing with, is all skill and no luck. In tournament play your better off playing conservative. Or you last longer than an aggressive player in most circumstances if you know how to play your good hands. Cash play is a completely different game and can be completely different considering who your playing and how much money they are willing to risk. Good cash players can struggle in tournament play and vise versa. Unless you know how to switch up your play. Good players always say, it's better to be lucky than good. that commonly used comment says it all.

Here's one thing which made Sexton and Van Patten so enjoyable to watch: Both of them would make an energetic comment when the action heated up, then they would either (1) make a second energetic comment, to continue the intensity, or (2) follow up with a toned-down or logical comment, or (3) follow up with a humorous comment. Example: the player who has all the college degrees and is a genetic scientist, he folded a hand and Sexton says (referring to his fold and chip stack going down) "he's a genetic engineer, but this time the test tube blew up in his face!" These two guys and McEachern/Chad, great commentary duos...

If you want to know a accurate chip count, then you have the dealer break it down, or you do the count yourself by looking !! It's NOT on your opponent to do it for you, nor are they required to answer your leading questions ! So if you get bad info, it's YOUR own fault, so don't whine like a punk if YOU screw up !!

As a guy who's lived in Australia for about 95% of my life.... listening to a lady with a thick Australian accent talk about poker is so unsettling. Sidenote: I was born in Texas hahah, and also I've been watching/listening to WSOP, Poker After Dark, High Stakes Poker with all U.S. commentators (or the neighbouring, Canadians like Norm MacDonald) for years now. The Aussie-ness is unsettling!!
