The custom listing grid!!! I’ve wanted this so bad for my clients’ blogs and other custom post types. I’ve drove myself mental trying to get them to look how I want and paid a lot to have it done. So excited this is finally a thing! I know there are a few other plugins but they make it so needlessly complicated and not part of Elementors modules, at least none that I’ve seen. So excited about this! Made my day, thank you!

Thanks Paul. Dynamic content is something I am just getting into understanding as I have a project coming up that will require this. I've watched and followed your various videos on ACF and CPT UI and from a beginner's perspective JetEngine as an all in one solution that includes Custom Post Types, Taxonomies and Custom Fields in the one package seems a simpler solution. I will require relationships with a post being linked to a person and a person being linked to multiple posts, so a JetEngine video that includes that would be fantastic! Finally, I'd just like to say I'm new to dynamic content and a week ago the subject and all the terminology was complete gobbledygook to me. A week on and purely as a result of your videos and more importantly your delivery style, I have a really good grasp of this subject and how it all hangs together, especially with Elementor Pro. Keep up the great work!

Just to add, I will also need a reasonable search function so I will look into whether or not JetEngine have an add-on for this or if I can integrate something like Search and Filter Pro but again an advanced video including relationships and search would be great :-)

Your videos have been so tremendously helpful,m and responsible for me moving forward with my current project, thanks so much for what you do! I’m developing a home building site right now and am still confused because they have individual “communities” that contain various “home plans.” My logic says both communities and home plans should be a CPT as they have their own dynamic content, but their current site is set up with the communities as taxonomies, not a CPT. Do you have any advice on this? It seems communities and home plans should be CPTS with a parent/child relationship while locations, Home styles, layouts etc should be taxonomies. I don’t know why I’m struggling to get my head around it but I want to make sure the site map and hierarchy’s work correctly.

My concern, however, is around the performance of the pages created - just looking at a random selection from Crocoblocks (assuming they use their own products) in Google Page Speed Insights throws up pretty poor results. Not sure what is controlling the size outside of the editor. Is it elementor? Where do i find the settings to make the boxes look like the editor? Very helpful, however, I couldn't get a custom link to display the Archive, tried and tried then I noticed the "archive" was listed in the Post Type I had made which in my case was Vehicle Details, I added this to the menu and it seems to have done the trick. I must add that I am a beginner so I could have been doing something wrong. but I would like to thank you as your videos have been an incredible help Cheers Barrie

The link to the archive for a custom post type is normally the name you give it when creating the custom post type. For example, if your CPT is named Vehicles, the link will be /vehicles/ It's not immediately obvious and Elementor Pro doesn't really give anything away when creating a custom archive template.

WPTuts thanks again, never used elementor before or Jet Pack would still be scratching my head if it wasn’t for your tutorials, managed to get a basic outline for the cars done in a few hours www.cyberspacecars.co.uk long way to go yet as i chose Jetpack as oppose to Custom Fields and am now trying to learn from your Car Dealership website tutorials and use Jet Pack, anyway thanks for replying and i used your links to buy so 👍

Paul C, thank-you for your high-quality videos! You are an excellent teacher. I have a question about parameterized URLs. Can TWO parameters be included in a URL, with dynamic values that are taken from custom meta fields? The URL I'm working with is in a dynamic field and located within an iFrame. It pulls back an external page showing a Bible passage. The properties are the passage and the version (e.g. passage=Psalm 139 and version=NIV), and these already exist as custom metafields on the custom post type. The syntax of the URL is like "www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=psalm+139%3A1-4&version=NIV" and, in this, you see the passage in the "search=" value and the version in the "version=" element. The field format, as it currently is setup, is shown below. It only has one variable. It uses the text string (%s) based on the "passage" metafield, and the version is hard-coded instead of dynamic. BTW: If there is already a video that covers adding multiple dynamic parameters to a URL, then just point me at that. I don't want to waste your time, but I've been spending hours trying to find this without success.

I get confused when building the single listing page with JetEngine 2.6. Do I use the Theme Builder on Crocoblocks or the one on Elementor Themes? The tutorials are really confusing as the versions change and things just change. Is there a full tutorial for JetEngine 2.6?

The listing option within JetEngine is for creating the basic info including the image, title and price, not the single property page. Ie if you look at Airbnb and do a search for an apartments in Barcelona, all the results that show up all have identical format which is a listing template pulling in the data dynamically from the property posts and repeating in a loop. Once you click on one of these listings it takes you into the single property page. This page template for a single property you should make using E Pro theme builder Single Post Template and assign it to your post type of properties.

This tutorial is great and all but how would you make it so that, you could allow people to post properties with the example you made on to your website, and you can approve and deny and even charge for some listing, based on some parameters you set? Would it be possible to create a directory listing with this plugin?

I think you may have missed the point of the video. This is simply a beginners introduction to the basics. What you're referring to building is considerably more complex. I'd recommend doing a search on the channel for building a business directory with front end submission and there's a tutorial here on doing that but with ACF and not JetEngine. However, you could take a similar approach as covered in that video and use JetEngine and PAFE to do something similar.

I see a problem in your listing grid and its the same as I'm trying to solve. The "Modern House" column (49.28) does not have the same height as the others because the content image has a smaller height. How do you set a fixed column height?
@WPTuts
@WPTuts 3 жыл бұрын
You can insert a spacer widget instead of the image, set that to the height you want for your images and then set the background of the widget to be an image, set it as a dynamic image and choose featured image. That should sort that out for you then. :)

Hi - I've tried everything but your guidance for setting up the archive page isn't working, I am just getting a 'page not found' - I've created the page exactly as per your video and set up the custom link. Any advice much appreciated! Am running on the latest version of elementor. Thank you!

Just double check the url name. I noticed when I'm following along with this video and i'm building on my localhost that the url left out the sites name. So typing /properties/ into the custom link gave me back something like localhost:8888/properties/ resulting in a 404 Whereas you'd expect to see the websites name such as localhost:8888/sitename/properties/ If you're working on localhost this is probably the issue. Hope this helps.

Hello, thank you for the great tutorials. I have been following you for some time now and really your tutorials are really really good. I HAVE ONE QUESTION THOUGH. I want to show only those users added by the currently logged-in user. I have created a user listing and have specified the role that needs to be displayed using the Listing widget. Now I want to restrict the user list to only contain users that were added by currently logged-in user. (Like only show me, my employees, that I added.) I know there is a field "acfef_manager" that contains the ID of the user who created that user. I can also get users by using meta query inside user query of Listing grid. But that I'm not able to do dynamically. As I can only specify a static value for acfef_manager. How can I give it a dynamic value, currently logged in user ID.??? I don't know if my question is clear but well here it goes....

I only get "Select the type of template that you want to work on" and "Name your Template". That's it The closest options from drop down i get are Single Post/Type. no option to select my "properties" or car_leases in my case. Please help out guys, i am stuck. thank you in advance.

Great video Paul! why do you choose JetEngine vs Pods or ACF what's the difference?
@WPTuts
@WPTuts 4 жыл бұрын
Each one has it's own unique flavour and tools but all 3 fundamentally achieve the same results. From a personal point of view I wouldn't choose one over the other, more a case of choosing the right one for the job. If you have the opportunity I would encourage you to try at least PODS and ACF out (as they are free) and see the differences. It's great to get a sense of perspective on the tools at hand so you can choose the right one for a given job.

@@WPTuts since PODS and ACF are available for free ... what is the advantage of Jet Engine that would warrant it's cost?
@WPTuts

@@24SevenMarketing Direct integration with Elementor, additional features like Listings, Admin Columns, Default WordPress post type tools and Gutenberg integration are a few of the very useful features that are included in JetEngine. You can do most of those things with extra plugins, but that does mean multiple plugins to achieve the same results. :0) To be hones, at $14 for a single site license, I think it is exceptional value for what it offers.

@24SevenMarketing
@24SevenMarketing 4 жыл бұрын
@@WPTuts thanks for the feedback.... yeah $14 is not a bad price at all ... as long as there is not an endless list of addon plugins that you need fo fully utilize the $14 version. What about using more than one if these plugins at the same time... is that possible? I find myself hesitating to commit to a specific plugin for custom fields and then having to go back and change everything if I find that one of the other plugins will work better for my application.
