Thanks Paul C for this great video. We can be masters at Elementor or whatever page builder we use, but without the appropriate hosting environment, all our hard work can be at the mercy of their limitations. Thanks for videos like this that dig deeper into this important aspect of what we do and help us make informed decisions, for us and our clients. Can't wait for the next two...

Thanks Rob and your absolutely right. What good is it crafting a great website only to put it on cheap and unreliable hosting! 👍

These are great videos. Would love to see a future vid that focuses on how to setup servers / applications for multiple client WP websites. For example... should you create a new server for each client website. Or create one server and put many different client websites on that one server. Thanks.

Hi Paul, based on the single WP install you did on the trial setup, it seems you used up a good chunk of your storage. Can you say how much a typical blank WP installation uses in storage?

This is something I would like to try. Been using ordinary web hosts in the past (arvixe, hostgator and site ground), cloudways features looks good to me except that it doesnt include smtp. What I would like to understand is the pricing. As you know, web hosts have fixed monthly and yearly pricing but for pay as you go model, i am not sure if it will reduce my cost or it will give me surprise charges as i dont know how can i estimate websites needs (multiple websites) and how much it will be. any suggestion how can i weigh options? if not cloudways, options are siteground and ionos. thanks

Hi Q I use Cloudflare would it interfere with the migration to cloudways ?
@jamesdavis87314 жыл бұрын
I am very confused on what the different priced plans give you as far as actually hosting small (15 pages or less) websites to medium (15 to 50 page websites). I mainly do work for small carpet cleaning websites, plumbing websites, those types of sites. What would I need as far as a price per month to handle the type of traffic that those average sites get. There is a lot in this video to like - especially the cloning and staging. Can anyone help me out with what I would type of a plan I would need to host let's say 20 smaller to medium sites? The email issue does concern me. I will look up the alternative mentioned in this video. Does anyone have any comment about this email service?

Great review as always! But i have a question. Why to use cloudways instead of digital ocean directly?
@WPTuts4 жыл бұрын
Primarily, for many users the Cloudways interface is probably easier than going directly for the DO account.

@@WPTuts Yeah I saw that, I will go for cloudways cause I don't know anything about servers etc. Thanks again 😊

It's a shame we haven't got the UK equivalent to Cloudways.
@WPTuts4 жыл бұрын
I'm based in the UK and find the service pretty quick. As long as you set your server location to the closest location, you should have no issues with it not being a UK based company. 😁

Hello, it's me again! So I can purchase a server, structure, and build my site via Wordpress, and after all that connect my domain and leave wix? Is that a reasonable thought?
@WPTuts4 жыл бұрын
By build your site via WordPress, you mean install WordPress on your Cloudways server? If so, then yes. That all sounds reasonable. :0)

Cloudways looks good, but how do you setup email service then? Thanks
@WPTuts4 жыл бұрын
You'd either need to use your own email servers (for example Google, etc.) or you could use Elastic Mail which I believe is integrated with the CloudWays setup but carries a separate fee which is around $0.10 per 1000 emails.

Many shared hosting providers offer LiteSpeed and NVMe SSD storage on modern hardware servers, and they can easily outperform the top plans from Cloudways. The Cloudways provides their services through shared cloud service configurations with low-grade server equipment that much cheaper dedicated service providers easily beat in performance metrics. Ironically, many bloggers try to present Cloudways as a top provider of VPS accounts instead of a more realistic positioning of their services as a low grade, overpriced shared hosting. A detailed explanation is given in the review paper at www.webwhim.co.uk/how-to-select-a-wordpress-hosting-provider/#Cloudways

Unless you use that very bottom service (as in this video) It's stupid expensive for what Ive see so far. Video one gets an apathetic 'MEH' so far.... I await the astounding stuff.
@GrantHawkey4 жыл бұрын
Regarding the pricing, just remember that the pricing tiers are either just under, the same as, or slightly above what the same specs will cost going to the cloud providers directly... Then you factor in all the ease of use and time saving when using Cloudways over each native console, and the fact you can clone/stage/git deploy between any combo for cloud providers, VPS configs, and even different client accounts (yes, build on your servers and transfer ownership to a client account when you launch)... And the value quickly adds up 😉👍

@@GrantHawkey If I'm on my own and looking to setup my own site - this is not even worth looking at (so far) If I had a list of clients with more money than sense, yeah, I'd look into it. (Ive read your other comments) If I'm playing with other peoples money, then sure, bring it on... but this channel is aimed at non- techies who wanna build beautiful wordpress sites, (I believe that's the quote ish) using page builders!!!! Why is this even here? Kerrrching!!!
@WPTuts4 жыл бұрын
@@craiggybear1807 I think you have the non techies quote from a different channel to this. If Cloudways isn't for you that's perfectly fine. If you're looking for Cloud server hosting without the need for technical know-how then this guide is meant for you. If not, no worries. I also say right at the beginning that this is sponsored by Cloudways and that it's a guide to setting up and using their services and not a review trying to persuade anyone to use them. Was I paid to create the content? Absolutely. Do I think there's anything wrong with that? Not at all. I'm running a business and paid for the account on Cloudways out of my own pocket. 😁
@craiggybear18074 жыл бұрын
@@WPTuts Out of my ow money - I'd have picked the exact one you did too. Kinda my point here. I'm absolutely positive they have plenty of cash to pay you well so that's great. Enjoy!
@GrantHawkey4 жыл бұрын
@@craiggybear1807 Yeah it's each to their own, for sure, but in true comparison we are missing the point if we compare powerful high performance features with budget shared hosting etc. Regarding value, one client project benefited from spending $800/mth on Cloudways instead of $4,500/mth on AWS directly, and also got better performance and developer workflow to boot. Your point on keeping costs low for individuals and DIY projects isn't lost on me though 🙂 I helped someone earlier this year grow her single site to a network of sites, and she's running all 12 sites on a single USD11/mth Vultr VPS using Cloudways, fast and reliable, which is also cheaper than 12x $4/mth horrible shared hosting plans 😉 All is not as it seems, it seems 😁 PS: Go Elementor!
