I remember Ta'rrega's 'Recuerdos de la Alhambra' being played by "Raul ", Esme Euvrard's son on his guitar on Sunday afternoons as she was a South African Radio presenter. That was about 66 years ago. This rendering is by far the best I have heard. So Bravo. Very well done and thank you.

This is one of the best renditions of this piece I have ever heard. This is a song of heart and emotion and longing... and I felt this throughout his presentation. The fact that he chose to not play it at break-neck speed was a welcome change. The fact that he never once looked at his guitar neck or fingers is... astounding.

this player is concentrating on the melody line and making it sing using tempo changes to bring out a haunting sadness, and understanding that tremolo is just a technique to carry a note indefinitely if needed. the thumb accompaniment is varied in volume to add definition and interest. I love this approach.

The best tremolo performance I have never eard..... It's not too fast. I' ts not too slow.... It's Just...... In my modest opinion, the recuerdos Is Song.... Not a march or dance or other things.... It Is just a Song....

I like Pablo Villega's rendition very much, but the author marked the tempo as Andante, which is faster than this. The idea behind the tremolo technique is to provide the illusion of a continuous sound, when you play it this slow you can hear every individual note. Having said that, everyone is free to play it at whatever speed they want. Pablo's speed is very enjoyable, that doesn't make faster renditions worse or wrong.

He plays tremolo so slow yet so fast, and that’s why I find his performances so first-class.

Technically flawless, but too much rubato! Enough to significantly alter the soul of the music with relentless slowing downs followed by accelerations. TThe rubato becomes boring periodic habit by the time we reach the end of the piece. My humble opinion. it is a matter of taste, not one of technique. Rubato now and then is OK, but it shouldn't turn into a compulsion.

I’m sure he knows better than you! Everybody is playing this song, it’s nice that someone is doing something unique with the song. And it’s easier to play fast machine gun tremolo than play like this!

I recently discovered this wonderful piece of music and I'm searching KZbin to find versions (and recordings) that I like. What exactly do you mean with the 'Tarrega version'? Do you mean that this is an interpretation (as in a cover) because it is slower?

Hi. This is theme written by francisco Tarrega in 1896. And when you read his music shit and play it you will never have this result. Pablo Villega is probably a good player, but he doesn't respect Tarrega 's instructions. look for john Williams, Dvid russel , Manuel Barrueco or kim shung you will hear VERY good guitarist playing El Recuerdos de la Alhambra.
