The Covenant is 3x harder than Cortana. Somehow the entire gaming community agreed that Cortana is like the hardest Halo level ever, when in reality it's easier than anything in Halo 2, most levels in Halo CE, and even The Covenant in Halo 3.

Ahh. At least relatively. The only threat I imagine at that point is the wraith shots, since turrets are dead, and Choppers seem to need a lot of shots to blow up a wraith, in this specific area. Either way, I imagine it's much safer than having your head popping out like that.

Tsavo Highway is definitely one of the most diverse sandboxes of any one Halo campaign mission. My favourite way to do it is to load up a transport warthog with fuel rod cannon marines. Not as crazy powerful as it sounds -- what it offers, though, is a rewarding glass cannon experience, wherein you have to do some impressive car stunts to get your bumper facing an enemy that isn't facing you. Their coordinated artillery approach was super rewarding to watch, after so much disarray and bickering. Especially its unmitigated success -- they took no chances and, as a result, netted a clean sweep. Hopefully we can see something like that take place on The Ark or The Covenant, much later. Maybe they can even get an AA wraith, that'd be fun.

Watching this go from complete chaos to an armored mobile artillery battery complete with forward spotters was a beautiful thing to behold. Fall back and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

There's probably no way they'll ever see this so a tip for anyone else wanting to do this, when you're in a Chopper, if you spam the trigger instead of holding it you can fire faster. Helps when you need to take of vehicles.

@@PHANTOMCOWGIRL Its about twice as fast, you can destroy an empty Warthog in about 5 seconds normally and just over 2 seconds firing faster. Who knows if it's meant to be a feature or not, might just be something to do with the delay between shots.

Probably. It's likely the 'firing' thing has the 'no firing' portion on the end of it, not the start, so if you repeatedly start 'firing' you skip part of the delay.

Except as far as the 'mechanism' goes for the Chopper, it most likely makes no sense, pulling the trigger repeatedly would likely not cause anything, or at worst cause the gun to jam or explode in some way. Unless it's a covenant 'trap' for anyone else commandeering them. "We'll limit the automatic firing so that only we know how to fire it as fast as possible!" Except.... in alien. Probably with a few Wort Wort Worts mixed in.

Oh that first scarab you're introduced to in the game...that part took me 5 hours over a 2 day period. I had all skulls on except blind and iron. All marines in the lakebed were dead. No missile pod ammo, no rocket launcher ammo, 23 charge on only plasma pistol. Scarab would just NOT get into a position I could jump on. Had nothing to shoot legs. Had no shields (did discover that punching the scarab legs restores shields). The brutes on the thing NEVER fell off. I was stuck like this for hours then finally one time I randomly threw a plasma grenade and it miraculously killed a brute and knocked the other 2 off then I was able to board and shoot the core with 7 bullets from a sniper rifle. Absolutely Fn ridiculous but was NOT giving up ha

17:15 This is a perfect example of why a halo campaign is so much better than the heavily scripted “shooting gallery” type campaigns like Call of Duty. The AI in the choppers were circling Ryan like sharks in the water because they didn’t want him to jump down the hill and get away from the wraith shots. They were making smart, cool decisions that make for fun and impromptu gameplay scenarios, while COORDINATING WITH EACH OTHER. The player has to come up with a creative way to succeed. And the best part is they won’t act the same way next time you play. The AI in most other shooters is so dumbed down compared to halo’s, and specifically halo 3’s. A certain number come from a certain direction and pop their heads up for you to shoot. It’s brain dead compared to halo. Everyone knows about how much the multiplayer was loved, but too many people forget how AMAZING the campaigns are, especially with friends and on harder difficulties.

Call of Duty 2 took me MONTHS to do solo and my brother and I took a lot of time to get MW2 Campaign done. I think they’re pretty far up there in difficulty and randomness. They take a lot of decision making.

Pro tip: Don’t mount the wraith and punch the shit out of it. Once the gunner’s out, get in the turret. The driver will get out, so all you have to do it get out and hop in the driver’s seat. Boom! Full health wraith!

You don’t have to bash the wraith to get the elite out of the wraith once you kill the gunner. To get a full-health wraith just jump in the gun seat and the elite will jump out the wraith, so you leave the gun and take the wraith! :)

I know this is too little too late. But a bit of a thing I discovered ways back on the original Halo 3. (Although it may have been patched on MCC) Basically if you kill the gunner of a wraith do not board. Instead jump onto the Wraith and hop into the plasma turret. This will force the Brute or Elite driver out of the Wraith into the plasma turrets line of sight. Kill him (or her I suppose) and then you've got a brand-spanking new wraith with no missing armor. It works in Reach and Halo 4 too and maybe some other games leading me to believe that it is a feature.

Interesting how they used the wraiths, in a creeping death sorta way, which i think is an actual tactic in war for artillery, sweep the entire area with mortars. I've never seen wraiths used this way in Halo since the multiplayer doesn't have them much, and there is no communication like this.
