Probably because it's so unusual, and they're out in the open, which means it's really easy to go "CHIEFTAIN!" and unload on him before you recognize what's going on.

You can fit a chopper through the entire level at the end too. Makes for a great moment when everybody backs off for your duel with the chieftain and you just mow him down

I actually noticed this as a quirk in the AI in games after this one. It seems like whenever you have a melee weapon and you meet a Chieftan with a melee weapon the rest of the covenant will ignore you until you decide the fight with the Chieftan in a honorable duel (or just try and shoot him in the face). It happened to me once when I was playing ODST on legendary with a friend. Final mission, final fight where you had to protect the dude there was this Chieftan with a gravity hammer and I had a gravity hammer myself. The Chieftan just stood there watching me herp derp some platforming on the outside to get to him and when I landed RAWRGH duel. I didn't get shot a single time doing that, despite doing that being INCREDIBLY stupid and so out in the open that I should've been mowed down by stray fire 1000 times over. Since I suck with the gravity hammer, what emerged from that was the derpiest Halo fight I've ever played where the two of us basically just circle strafed with and swung our hammers until eventually I scored a killing blow on him. Then of course I immediately got shot (but not killed) and ran back into cover before I died horribly. This moment stuck out in my mind because of how odd it was to the rest of the legendary campaign, especially the final stage which was rock hard (except the Scorpion bit which we blasted through in 1 go), but it reminded me of that scene in this particular stage. What I will say, however, is it doesn't surprise me that you wouldn't know that simply because you walk in and see a room of enemies at the end of a very long very shooty level. With the end in sight I bet most players would go in guns blazing.

For the first reset session, I decided to include Jeremy along with Michael, even though normally I wouldn't. It just seemed more fair, plus Jeremy still had the least amount of deaths in the end anyway.

I don't think they have the level of skill (except Gavin & Jeremy) nor the patience to do a LASO(Mythic difficulty)run for Halo:CE or Halo:2. Halo3 and Halo:Reach are by far the easiest on Mythic difficulty. But the remake of Halo:CE(Anniversary) has a infinite ammo skull at least when I last played the game(Release date). Don't know if it was patched or what but it makes it easier than on the original.

Kevin Gluys halo is horrible on legendary for combat evolved. That game’s difficulty is far worse than this game.. especially laso, where grunts explode since grenades were nukes back then

Also Halo 2 would take about 3 years to complete due to the size of the campaign alone. Halo Reach would be a good idea, but beyond that Halo 3 is the best LASO run for a video series.

The way this series is going, Sierra 117 (First level) is gonna end up being the hardest one they've done. They're hitting walls in every level but getting past them fairly quickly. They spent 3 videos dying at the end of the first level.

I've never been able to kill this Scarab with the tank. I always have to board it. I think the closest I've come to killing it with a vehicle is when I rammed a Chopper into the core when it was exposed.

There was only one tank coming out of the building because you all took one when the Frigate dropped them off. The game remembers how many vehicles are available, and rewards you with the ones you didn't take later on.

When you activate the bridge it seems there are 3, but only one will come out because there was only one downlow. If they brought them back down before entering they would have had 3. But this made it more intersting to watch.

It probably would have been better to keep an AI in the Gauss Cannon since their have hyper-active accuracy when it comes to playing on Legendary. Also, didn't know you could one-on-one the Chieftain at the end. I always just went in and started bipping the outer ones with the brute shots.

at 32:30 on the scoreboard, what is enemy between the wraith and chopper? Ryan and Gavin apparently each killed one of them? If I'm not mistaken, that's the Watcher symbol from Halo 4, which makes no sense because they don't exist in Halo 3. My other guess is that maybe it represented Sentinels for some weird reason, but they have a distinctly different symbol. What am I missing here?

They could have taken the Scorpion up onto the platform to take down the Scarab with minimal damage and/or deaths. The platform's at an awkward altitude for the Scarab's turret but it's a perfect vantage point for the Scorpion. It's how I took it down the first time I ever played Halo 3 and it's a strategy that's never failed me since.
