Wrangell, Alaska for Repairs and Maintenance / MV Havaseas - Nordhavn 55

We have had the Havaseas, our Nordhavn 55, for just over two years. We explored Canada over the winter and spring. We are now back to Alaska. We continue our journey to Wrangell for some repairs and maintenance on the boat. These are our adventures, how we live and where we go.

Hello from Minnesota. We stumbled across your videos last night and it was very relaxing and enjoyable to watch. We liked how you explained where you were. Videos of the radar screen and the beautiful country it is up around lower Alaska. You allow us to really see the surroundings of the ports, and the activities in the seaside towns. I’ve never seen so many otters together. Loved to see the wild life. In my opinion you do a very nice job videoing. You don’t just zip through an area. My husband and I see a lot of us in the way you guys do things. Like making plans but all of a sudden change the game plan and get up and go. Thank You for your time and hard work giving us an enjoyable video.

What a pain having upside down filters especially as you need to put some in before attaching a new one its a double whammy!

Thanks for following! You should visit! There is a hamburger place in the middle of town that I love! Also, the hotel restaurant has good food! Check hours of operation before you go!

Havas I have a question for you. When you are in long range cruise mode what is your speed and what is your fuel burn per hour? Thanks

7 knots and fuel burn of 1.25 gallons an hour with genset running. One of the great things about a Nordhavn!

Certainly you would think the engineers that oriented the oil filter upside down know better! Either that or they have never changed a filter themselves!

We take it to a disposal site. There is a disposal site at the top of the ramp in Heritage Harbor.

Just get a remote oil filter relocation kit and mount the filter correctly so it doesn't spill...problem solved.

That is a thought.... but there would be more possible points of failure. It would be a high pressure installation.
