The seam you're referring to is called a felled outseam. Sometimes it's called double stitching. Most jeans have a felled inseam, but I like the unique look of wranglers because of the felled outseam. The tacks you mentioned on the back pockets are called single cap rivets. Most jeans use double cap rivets, and don't have them on the back pockets. But I like how the cowboy cut jeans use single caps on both front and back pockets. They have a smooth rounded look.

Those exact Wranglers are still sold in our Cowboy Store here in Canada for around $60 or more. Your jeans look like they were washed once and never worn probably since they were to tight to fit the owner after drying them.

I have gone through a lot of 13MWZPW. and they last a long time, I heard that the MWZ stands for men's with zipper, because years a go they had button fly. You got a great buy on the jeans !

from what I know its 13 mens western zipper. THe 13 is because wrangler worked together with cowboys and rodeo athletes to create the best fit, material and fly for them. The first twelf were alright but the 13ths was the hit and they all said it was perfect.

Those are the original 1947 jeans (other than being prewashed). They are original fit (Between slim and regular). They are straight leg. They use 15.25 oz denim. The heaviest in a Wrangler Jean. Warning, they run true to size, they are not vanity sized which means most need to be 1-2 sizes larger than many jeans. They also tend to be a little long and have a little extra rise to avoid riding up when you sit a horse. No big deal as most people "stack" jeans to avoid that on a horse anyway.
