Just one more person saying thank you. The driver side cable had come off. Two front bolts. Two rear. Feeling my way around. Was able to loosen, reattach (twice as passenger came off haha) and adjust. Working as it should. Your video made it possible!!

Definitely need a 10mm deep socket at least 2” plus to get through the treads to the actual nut. I just barely got it and then used a 10mm combo wrench for a hair more to get it perfect. Excellent video and thanks. 10 minute job

Great video! Thanks- you state being comfortable doing this….. how many times have you had to tighten this adjustment nut? Is it a mater of the nylock is worn out and no longer working? Or should I consider a jam nut. This seems pretty easy- but I’m not trying to make a habit of doing this… 🤣😂🤣

I only had to do it once, up to 200,000 kms, after which I sold it.

Thanks for the video! Fixed my problem, and this is the second video of yours that helped me out! Little critique I have, some of the video clips have a high pitched signal to them. Killed my ears when I had headphones on.
@CheaperJeeperTV3 жыл бұрын
Hey James, I think in my early videos I had an audio issue. I believe it is corrected in my latter videos. Please let me know if you still hear the high pitched sound in my recent videos. Apologies about that in the early videos. Cheers.

@CheaperJeeperTV Жыл бұрын
I personally don’t know if the JL handle will fit the JK, but I do believe that I saw online that the emergency brake adjustment occurs underneath of the jeep.
@JasonNeri Жыл бұрын
@@CheaperJeeperTV yeah the JK is trash. You basically only have adjustment at the wheels and by adding tension to the spring on the handle. It's miserable.
@CheaperJeeperTV Жыл бұрын
Is the video in the following link what you mean to do? kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJLTko19ibeGgqM
@JasonNeri Жыл бұрын
@@CheaperJeeperTV see where the three cables meet. The JL has a bolt there that you can add tension to the setup. The JK doesn't and the slack remains if there is any resistance in the cabling. On mine the cables are new and the handle is new, and the pads are about a year old with plenty of meat on them. I have wrapped the clock spring an extra time around to take up a lot of slack, and adjusted the pads till they basically touch the inside of the rotor hats. I dunno how else to get enough grip.

Do you have any info on a jk 2 dr e-brake adjustment?
@CheaperJeeperTV4 жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel, I do not. Also, it could vary by the year of your JK, as I know I had observed that in some earlier models, the adjustment bracket was actually beneath the floor, exposed to the elements, and lending themselves to rusting. What year is your JK?

The drums inside the back brakes adjust from inside, by removing the rubber plug, and turning the "Self-Adjuster..." NOT by removing the whole interior... Takes almost 5 minutes, if you include the power spraying of the back tires/rims...

Fantastic video. I figured this all out last year after a failed inspection sticker. Adjusted enough to hold and pass, but now another year as passed and my 2018 JLU is just over 40K. Tried adjusting yesterday but won't hold in D at idle. Looks like shoe replacement is due. I bought them last year, but never installed. Looks like I have a project ahead of me, sticker is due at the end of May 🤷♂️ Done the rear pads 2x now, hoping that rotor comes off easy to get to the parking brake shoes!
