Wrangler JL Regeared To 5.13's. On this video we regear my 2018 JL Wrangler! We take the Jeep to my buddy Adam's shop Prepped Overland in the Portland area. We decided to install Spicer gears in a 5.13 to regain some performance offroad and prepare for some bigger tires in the future. Adam and his crew did a great job on the install and it was cool to watch some of the process and learn a few tricks as well. The jump up to 5.13's totally changed how the Jeep drives now, its definitely one of my best mods so far. We did have to buy a new rear axle from a Jeep dealership due to a broken rear locker that Adam found during the regear. Once we got the new locker to them they finished the regear that day. I was really happy with their work and that they took the time to install and torque everything and paint mark it when they were done, just like I like to do. Nice how do you like the 4.88s? I was back and forth between the two but want to go bigger tires soon. The Browns Camp area is a lot of fun, we’re lucky to live so close!

@FROSTBITEOFFROAD I have 37.copper sst pros and the gears seem to.mesh well. It almost feels factory. I am still in my 500 mile break in, so I am taking it easy.

Curious to know, with that broken pin in the locker were you noticing anything before hand? i.e. noises, was is actually working, etc...

It was a used Rubicon axle that I trussed, it didn’t make noise just driving around. Didn’t have the locker wired up before we re-geared it but I imagine it would have made a lot of noise. Did you break your?
