@@RandaroniiI'm just speaking as a barrel racer who was a 7 year old when I broke my collar bone doing this exact same thing. THE HORSE DOESN'T NEED HER, but she nor I knew that. Now I have brain injuries at 56. This is dangerous. Thank GOD for that horse. Clearly her parents know that horse well and the horse has barrel raced with another rider. Horses spook easily and we're going so fast at the end with a really really short distance to stop our horse. Imagine if she used her whip at the end? My sister died because someone left a gate open and as soon as her horse hit the pavement IT WAS GAME OVER and that was years ago. She died right on the spot with me watching brain matter pour from her head! I WAS 11! She was 14. I know she wasn't the first to die that way and I'm sure she's not the last. A 6 YEAR OLD ISN'T EXPERIENCED ENOUGH TO REALLY HAVE THAT KIND OF STRENGTH AND CONTROL NEEDED TO BARREL RACE LIKE SHE JUST DID! GOLD MEDAL TO THE HORSE; SHE GETS A SILVER FOR HOLDING ON FOR DEAR LIFE; HER PARENTS ARE LOSERS.

You've never been a barrel racer. I did it for 10 years in the rodeo. She's HAS THE POTENTIAL to DIE a legend is what I see but her life will be short like my sisters was. We both started barrel racing really young, too, and my sister died competing at the rodeo. I watched her brain spill from her head. I had to race the next weekend though. And WE WERE YOUNG! My sister didn't live to see her 16th birthday and now I have three traumatic brain injuries and I'm sure my brain will show more damage than any NFL PLAYER. This sport isn't for the faint hearted girls and women. We're daredevils, fearless, and have too much heart. DEADLY COMBINATION BARREL RACING but required to really be good at it.❤

ALL HORSE! Fearless cowgirl though. I used to be her and did this for 10 years. I would have paid good money for this horse. He was so gentle with her, but I promise I would have had to command the horse.😂 This horse could literally do this without a rider. Anybody who knows horses knows she's too small for such a BIG HORSE. Watch his strides. Plus, she didn't look at the clock, BUT she is grabbing the horn and shifting her weight on the barrel turns and THAT'S PHENOMENAL! Legend in the making IF she doesn't die or get a brain injury like me. I would never put my girls on a horse that big to barrel race because I WAS A BARREL RACER AND STARTED AT 6. I grew up on a ranch and did barrel racing all of my life, I learned to full on gallop barrels WITHOUT straps at 9 years old. I don't think you should let little kids compete if they are not comfortable to do barrels without straps. What would happen if the straps weren't put on properly? Would the kid fall off, scream and spook the horse? There's an infinite amount of possibilities. At her age I was only cantering barrels and poles. This pains me to say and don't hate on this...The horse is doing 90% of the work here. Please be careful and ride properly. PLEASE PIN TO LET OTHERS KNOW WHY THIS IS WRONG!!! I really don't like barrel racing (it's a leg wrecker and features some of the worst reckless riding)). But that's a super horse 🐎 carrying that *bold* itty bitty kid around the pattern. I think the kid is strapped on. Like a seatbelt? Gotta like this kid for her gutsy boldness. Now teach her to actually ride so her horses stay sound.

I’m not familiar with barrel racing but my first thought was that it would tear the hell out of joints. I don’t like/won’t watch polo for the same reason, it’s just an inherently disrespectful way to ride.

what’s the difference between this and any other sport? jumping is horrible for horses ligaments. racing is horrible for their joints since they’re started at such a young age. tennessee walking is horrible for their joints. i can go on and on about things that are also bad for a horse

Sorry to burst a lot of people's bubble but this horses performance has little to nothing to do with the rider. This is a super experienced well trained barrel horse who knows what to do simply because he's done it ao many times before. If you took that little girl off he'd run the same course the same way with no rider at all. It's just facts When I first started doing hunter/jumper the horse I rode in my first couple of schooling shows knew what to do without any input from me. He has been shown for 10+ years in hunter / jumper shows where the difficulty level/ height of the fences isn't comparable in the slightest. It was no coincidence that Rio always won the schooling shows and the shows in the lower levels no matter who the rider was. The horse was just good at his job and knew what to do and had done it so many times before that he literally had the courses memorized.

Best part is watching the horse turn around in the home stretch making sure his baby was ok. I remember when I was 4 or 5 and the farm horse would ran just fine with my mom or aunts. But every time I would get a ride they would kick her trying to get her to trot or run and she would just turn around look at me and say no way no matter how hard they kicked her. 42 now thanks for the great video. She also let me crawl all over her as she slept in the pasture.

@@evannahinson7539 I know. But when you buy a pony/horse that was neglected for a couple of years, you know that you have some time to invest for trusting you. We had that when we bought one when he was about ruffly 17years old. Even the woman who had him didn't know much about him, of his past I mean, and only her daughter of 15 could catch him and ride him. But my daughter, she was about 10years back then, could get a gentle connection with him so she could pet him a bit on his head. That was it, but we fell in love and we felt....that if we gave him his time he would trust us. And we went back for him, the week after. Again a ride of 4hours to him and back home and the hard work of trusting each other could begin. ☺️ And after Al the effort, he had a beautiful couple of years. The band between him and my daughter was beautiful. He trusted her, very much and so did I. 🥰 I could tell you much more. But now you know a little bit why I said that. ☺️

Only his stable and a bit of sand where her daughter ride him sometimes. He had some trust issues and was a bit wild. But my little girl and I felt something good about him and wanted to give him a better home.
