They don't need to put tons of sensors that end up complicating the electrical system or design parts explicitly so that consumers can't work on and repair them.

People have a misconception that titanium is SUPER strong. It's actually weaker than many steel alloys. It's claim to fame is that it's lighter than steel, and stronger than aluminum.
@rlovell38310 ай бұрын
Going by strength to weight ratio it IS SUPER strong compared to both steel and aluminum.
@Gideon_Judges610 ай бұрын
@@rlovell383 strength to weight yes, but the same with glass, diamond, concrete, and other materials. Of course there are different strengths in different directions. But anyway that doesn't make titanium any more difficult to cut than most steels. People think it's some supernatural made up hardness like Wolverine's adamantium or Captain America's vibranium, when it's SOFTER than many steels is my point.

Although I am a Pennsylvania man, I am a GNCC and a woods racer for 15+ years, and these videos give me the fizz. I’ve torn my 05’ 450r down to the frame almost every year and rebuilt it to race the following year. It’s a good feeling going as fast as you can through the woods knowing you know every nut and bolt on your machine is good and proper.

Pro tip: always thread on a die before you cut the bolt so that you can back it off to maintain proper threads. I would rethink substituting titanium for steel as for the same diameter bolt it is not as strong. Love your dirt bike videos and one wheel videos! Actually love all your videos
@breaking_bear10 ай бұрын
PRO TIP: first use a die from a tap and dye set to screw onto the threads before cutting bolts to size. Often the die is impossible to install after cutting. So having it on before you cut can save you a headache and make sure your threads are reshaped to factory spec after cutting or filing a bolt.

Highly recommend checking with a master mechanic or engineer regarding bolt material substitution. While for the weight titanium can be stronger then steel what this means in the real world is that a titanium bolt of equivalent tensile strength will have a larger diameter then a steel bolt of equivalent strength. Basically if you have two bolts of identical diameter one made of steel the other made of titanium, the titanium bolt will have less than half the strength of its steel counterpart… I am concerned.

I always liked to find a nut to put on the bolt before i cut it so when i did cut it and take the nut off it will help keep the threads nice. Makes it easier to put the thread chaser on it that way.

My grandpa was quite a man and he had a near endless supply of cats at his farm. People would dump unwanted kittens at the barn or old farmhouse and he'd give them just enough cat food to keep them fed but not fat. He said they wouldn't hunt if they were fed too much. I can hardly recall seeing a mouse in the barn, or around the house, the cats and the snakes kept them in check. And when he took his afternoon naps on the front porch recliner it wasn't uncommon for one of them to hop in his lap and join him.
