Well thank you so much. It has been fun to talk about the books with him.

I loved Weyward! I've passed it along to a friend and, like you, I hope that more people read it. Rebecca Makkai's book is next up for me - it's this month's pick for my book club.

From one good book to another. I liked Makkai’s book a lot. I loved The Great Believers more, but this one kept me turning the pages. I hope you like it and tell me about it.

Wandering Souls, Brother & Sister..., Weyward, and I Have Some Questions... all sound like very good books. I'll be looking out for them, cause you make them sound unmissable.

I read Weyward a couple of weeks ago, but I found it just ok. Looking forward to reading Wandering Souls.

I've only read The Cabin at the End of the World (which I did enjoy but haven't bothered with the movie) out of this list but the rest have gone immediately onto the TBR. I'm currently reading Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver and absolutely loving it.

I liked 3/4 of Demon Copperhead … I will be interested what you think - it got a little “on the nose for me”.

@Ink and Paper Blog it was a four star read for me for that same reason. I also loved the first 3/4 of the Poisonwood Bible by her as well but then she kept going after a good narrative end point to really delve into the lasting effects of colonisation in Africa. Even though she has yet to stick an ending for me, I'll continue to pick her up.

Currently reading Weyward and the cover is STUNNING…. Thought the 🇺🇸 finally won a best book cover …. Then I saw Simon Savage’s ( misspelled, I know ) cover …. They’re so different, yet both so beautiful

Oh, I am so excited to see what you think of the ending. Oh Simon and his covers! Makes me all jealous.

I flew through Wandering Souls, it is easy to read though the topics are not necessarily so. It is deceptive like that.
@InkandPaperBlog Жыл бұрын
Yes! A book that is deceptive in its complexity. I loved that about it. And then it made me cry too!

I have heard that as well. It is up the hubby. He picked the books. :-)

omg me and hubby read cabin at the end of the world and spent the whole time thinking spoilerish "ok, this isnt going to be as basic as it seems, right? its not just like 'oh, ill make it a gay couple with an adopted asian kid' it cant possibly be basic and boring and desperate for rep points... right?" wrong. basic. boring. lol
@InkandPaperBlog Жыл бұрын
You are too funny. I liked it just fine. I liked it better than I liked Interview with a Vampire.

@@InkandPaperBlog one demerit for russell! Interview is great! Tho that new series has some bad acting or directing or something. Just not amazing. And sadly the Mayfair witches isn’t amazing either. I knew that Alexandra blahblahdario gal was going to ruin the character!
