It feels worth it to shout out Good Old Games here. It's run by CD Projekt, and unlike Steam, you own the games you buy there. All game purchases include the files to install the game offline as many times as you want. Their library isn't as big as Steam's, but that's also because most publishers don't want you to be able to buy their games, they want you to license them. Also CD Projekt are massive chads in my book for releasing their games on multiple stores and not requiring you to install their launcher. Red Dead 2 still requires the Rockstar launcher even if you buy it on Steam. Titanfall 2 still requires origin even if you buy it on Steam. If you buy The Witcher or Cyberpunk on steam, it won't force you to download GOG Galaxy Check them out if you haven't already

what still gets me about the whole thing of Steam now openly disclosing what has always been true, is that no many people seem to know that you can still play your Steam games without being signed in to Steam at all. idk how many Steam games have DRM, but i do know anything i "own" in my library so far can all be played offline so long as it isnt a game that requires some type of server, like an MMO or something similar that requires other players to play it at all. and even then, you still keep what you bought if Steam ever delists a game and you can download it so long as you had already bought it before that happened. they have yet to pull a Nintendo or a Konami so far. (Nintendo pulled Advance Wars remake off somebody's console when they accidentally were able to download the digital version when the delay happened. and Konami's thing was PT being deleted forever so you couldnt redownload it.)
