Because System Shock is considered to be one of very few games in the same category as BioShock along with Thief, Deus Ex and Dishonored despite some gameplay differences and also I didn't watch the video lol (I got distracted because someone talked about System Shock). Unless you're referring to how BioShock is a more dumbed down console friendly version of the genre which is technically true. For those that don't know, Lyle was joking about there actually being only one Switch emulator. Also for Lyle, I'm pretty sure Sony should be able to use AMD's FSR without any issues. It's supposed to be free, open source, and work across hardware (plus Sony uses AMD hardware). They probably just decided to "make their own" for branding purposes. It might even just be FSR rebranded or slightly tweaked.

A slight correctioin regarding the upscaling. Playstation and Xbox can use AMD's implementation of upscaling called FSR and several games already do. The issue isn't that it's proprietary, FSR is open source. The issue is that FSR tends to produce lackluster compared to something like Nvidia's DLSS due to not using machine learning. AMD is hinting at adding ML to FSR but it's unlikely to work on hardware that existed before it released. A lot of console devs tend to implement their own upscalers as a result. Sony adding their own ML based upscaler and the hardware for it saves devs the time of implementing aswell as reducing the burden on the GPU.
