They have one operating in the Hervey Bay aged care residence. It has its own lift and doors. The residents truly enjoy having it around. It brings things to your room, takes out the trash and laundry.

then raise your skill level. If you can be replaced by a robot, the fault lies with you for not preparing yourself in high school and college. Conversely, there are a LOT of "skilled labor" such as home construction (plumbing, electricians, foundation builders, framers, etc) . My son in law knew he wasn't great in academics in highschool and never went to college, but he went into a great industry and is doing very very well, making almost double what I make. And no robot can do what he can do

@@hrhamada1982 While developing skills better than robots is certainly possible now, as actuators, servos, and motors become faster and more efficient, certain jobs (specifically manufacturing jobs) will be more efficient if they are done by robots. This by no means comes from a place of 'robots are the only way forward,' but getting good is becoming progressively less viable as robotics develops.

@@raybod1775The two walking in the front are real girls in cosplay costumes, the ones at the back are animatronic dolls. There are behind the scenes videos of the girls having their makeup applied. The animatronic ones look like repurposed "adult" dolls, which have been around for quite a while. They have some basic movements to make them seem real, but don't do anything. You can buy them for a few thousand dollars if that is your thing. These particular ones just have different skins on their frames instead of what you normally see on the "adult" ones. It is amusing that people think those two girls are actually robots! 😂

But some people ARE claiming the girls are robots and are using it as evidence of how advanced Chinese tech is though, that is the thing. Pretty amazing. The speed of development is certainly increasing, since as oone manufacturer solves a set of problems, others follow their lead very rapidly. Whils the truly "fully humanoids" might be more in the domain of the very wealthy, I can easily see smaller. more utilitarian machines becoming widespread. Older models will need repair / upkeep, so there will certainly be very interesting (and no doubt rewarding) future career opportunities in "consumer sector" robot maintenance and repair. Maybe such repairers will be as ubiquitous as today's independent car maintenance garages?

Robots that are bigger and smaller should be the next thing. Imagine 10 ft tall worker robot that's super strong, high powered, has huge energy storage. Also how helpful 1,2,3 foot tall robots could be and cheap so widespread-every lab would have a few 1 foot tall robots to help with everything (sort of the opposite of a bunch of little monkeys which are never helpful).

Same. But, for now, one can get the Unitree G1 humanoid robot for $16,000. And add some very lite yet firm foam over it, and a layer of silicone rubber over that, wile making sure to have some vents so the system and motors don't over heat. If and when I can afford one, it's what I intend to do with it.

That's awesome to get one that doesn't have the wheels, but why can't the guys that are been making for how many years these rubber dolls? Then all they can do is move their head and look stupid when they talk because they just like chatter, no-take that robot's intelligence and put it in one of them. That's something you could do and make that walk and talk and do what you need it to do. Due to dishes due to vacuuming. I guess in about 10 years they look much more human...and are more agile.. in about 15 years humanoid robots will be mass-produced... But who knows for sure..,???? 🤖?
