The WRC is the FIA World Rally Championship, a tough motorsport using rally cars on real roads around the world. Watch the best rally drivers battle on gravel and asphalt roads with mud, rain, dust, ice and heat! Each rally has timed sections called special stages, on closed roads. Drivers complete these stages as quickly as possible. A co-driver reads pace notes that explain the hazards ahead. Rally drivers use the same rally car to travel to each stage on public roads, following normal traffic regulations. The crew which completes all the stages in the shortest time is the rally winner. Championship points are won using the same scoring system as Formula 1. The championship is administered by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), motorsport's world governing body.
Over 30 countries have hosted WRC rallies. Rally Monte Carlo, Rally Argentina, Rally Finland, Rally Portugal, Tour de Corse on Corsica, France, Rally Sardegna on Sardinia, Italy, Safari Rally in Kenya, Acropolis Rally in Greece, Rally New Zealand, Rally Australia, Rally Japan, Rally GB, Rally Catalunya, Rallye Deutschland, Rally Mexico and many more.
Some of the world's greatest drivers have won the FIA World Rally Championship for Drivers, like Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Walter Röhrl, Stig Blomqvist, Petter Solberg, Ott Tänak. The list of world rally champions includes many Finnish rally drivers like Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen, Ari Vatanen, Marcus Grönholm, Hannu Mikkola. French drivers have had success with Sébastien Ogier, and 9 times world champion Sébastien Loeb. Famous drivers from other motorsports have come to try rally driving like Ken Block from Rallycross, and Robert Kubica and Kimi Räikkönen from F1.
Car companies compete for the prestigious FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers awarded to the most successful WRC constructor. Winners include Citroen, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Peugeot. Ford have had success with the Ford Escort, Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta when the M-Sport team won in 2017.
The 1980's featured the iconic Group B rally cars like the Lancia 037 and Delta S4, Peugeot 205 T16, MG Metro 6R4, Ford RS200 and Audi Quattro.
Japan dominated the 1990s with the Mitsubishi Lancer, Subaru Impreza, and Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla. Toyota returned to the WRC in 2017 with the Toyota Yaris WRC, winning in 2018. No importa que los coches vayan sobre rail... Los pilotos compiten contra otros pilotos que también manejan esos coches "sobre rail" entonces el más rapido sigue ganando. Y hay algunos que están tocados por la varita igualmente, que el estilo de ahora sea más "clínico" y limpio no va a cambiar eso.

A Eugeni: Tienes toda, toda la razón. En el deporte del Motor los Rallies de alto nivel son un mundo aparte. Altísimos velocidades por carreteras estrechas, muy difíciles y peligrosas. Eres tú solo, contra tí mismo y nadie más: Nadie delante que te frene, o detrás que te de un "toque", nadie a los lados en un grupo que te impida hacer "tu trazada" adecuada en la curva, etc, Todo ésto que sí se da en los Circuitos, en los Rallies no, por lo que repito: No tienes a "nadie" a quien echarle la culpa de una mala actuación por tu parte. Si añadimos a ésto que las únicas "escapatorias", en caso de "pasarte" son cunetas con árboles, con paredes de rocas, o incluso peor: con barrancos y precipicios, entonces no se puede negar que la especialidad de los Rallies (de alto nivel) es la más temeraria, sublime, peligrosa y apasionante del bonito Mundo del Deporte del Motor. a veces veo a carlos del barrio en las retransmisiones de la tv española y no parece tener el temperamento para navegar un auto de rally. pero aca esta extraordinario, incluso le va tirando los tiempos en un tramo tan dificil como este, en medio de tanta curva y contracurva seguida. no se que paso despues del error que cometio en argentina, pero por esto que acabo de ver me parece un gran navegante, preciso y emotivo.

Piensa también que para tí son notas nuevas. Al final con la práctica te dice algo y es casi automática la memorización, por lo que te va diciendo cosas y ya vas viendo las indicaciones por así decirlo sin tener que pensarlas

La otra duda, cómo hace el copiloto para leer bien, no tartamudear, no trabarse la lengua, decir todo tan claro y estar tan calmado a esas velocidades y con esas curvas...

Si quieres al oír las notas saber que curva biene y te gustan los tramos de Rally te recomiendo que te compres el juego DiRT 4 y en unos meses te aseguro que las notas que da el copiloto las entenderás a la perfección. Yo llevo ya un año y entiendo perfectamente las notas y ten en cuenta que a cualquier piloto ya van muy rápidas sin hacer falta un copiloto, pero el copiloto es para arañar esos segundos que hacen ser mucho más rápido y se lo que tedigo ya que yo he hecho tramos de Rally siendo copiloto y por eso se que un piloto ya por si es muy rápido y por eso un piloto a lo largo de su vida profesional cambian alguna que otra vez de copiloto.

como se llega a ser copiloto de WRC......... muy sencillo experiencia y entendimiento de varios factores (piloto, vocablo, economico, etc...) La lectura del tramo es igual para un automóvil de 100 CV, que para uno de 400 del campeonato del mundo de rally

Si alguien se pregunta cual es la gran diferencia (aparte de las obvias) entre el rally y la Fórmula 1 yo le diría que el rally se trata de un combate entre la naturaleza y el conductor. Con naturaleza me refiero a todo lo que tiene que ver con el clima, gravedad, aire, viento, visibilidad, física, temperatura, tracción y demás. El combate de la Fórmula 1 por el otro lado está más concentrado con los conductores rivales.

Jajajajaj,2 o 3 días antes de empezar el rally....por ejemplo si el rally es de Jueves a Domingo, pues el Martes o Lunes,con coches de calle.....recorren los tramos para reconocerlos,e ir apuntando las curvas y todo....luego repiten otra vez a dar otra vuelta o 2 más para confirmar que las notas estén bien y pulir detalles..... lo que se llama "jornada de reconocimiento"
