A lot more attention should be given to making it level. Without any torsional support on the front, even a couple degrees out of level will have it leaning downhill in the very near future.

Great video. If you wanted to paint it, would you paint once constructed or before?

paint cedar?

Is this wood weather proof, does it to be treated" often
@SJ.778 күн бұрын
you can use OSMO oil on cedar - but it needs a few months of natural weathering first so it can absorb the oil

You mention that if the base isn't square you can "rack it square." Any tips on how you would go about that?

Base with 2x4s on the flat? Why do it that way. It’s so weak and it will flex.
@johnhubbard6262 Жыл бұрын
This is slanted toward homeowners that are going to drop it on a slab/sidewalk of the home. Ones that will not notice it does not take into account the grade. He did say he shimmed it level, but neglected to mention with that flat 2x4 construction those shims had to be on all runners, end to end.

Pivot doors’ hinges are mounted on the top and bottom side of the door, instead of on the side. The pivot door rotates on a vertical axis. A pivot doors movement is visually very different from a regular hinged door. When the hinge is placed 4“ from the side of the door, these 4“ create the pivot door’s ‘tail.’ This tail will swing inward for an outward swinging door and outward for an inward swinging door, giving it it’s unique aesthetic value and contemporary look and feel.
