As someone who doesnt dive. I just wanna thank you for giving the real experience, instead of talking over or putting some music over the clip.

I'm not a diver, but I enjoyed this clip! Great footage of the wreck and diverse marine life around it! I never knew crayfish inhabited such a high northern latitude! Glad this had no music, as the normal dive sounds add to the experience. Great job! 👍

thanks for the efforts of providing a great video. This is great for us diving enthusiasts who can't or don't dive for one reason or another. Don't listen to those who question you diving on the wreck as a war grave. A normal person would know that their is no disrespect on the divers part based on the video. Is it disrespect of the war dead for those divers that removed the bunker oil from the wreck? Disrespect is when divers pose skulls of the sailors in the sunken ships of Truk etc.

It’s also disrespectful to loot these tombs unless it was the state that wanted the oil removed then it was still looting a war grave

@@JOHNSMITH-ym2dk Oil has to be removed because the tanks *will* fail, causing ecological damage. No one give AF about the oil there for any economic benefit.

Wonderful stuff. I was borne in 1968 . The Old Bottles remind me of Custou diving on WWII Japoness wreck when I was a Child. The difference was the caps/ Corks still had the contents sealed in the Brought them up and sampled them. Party 😁.

I read about this ship in my early days of discovering my passion about WW2 thanks to my grandfather’s copy of a magazine called ‘Illustrated History of WW2’. It had a whole article dedicated to the Invasion of Norway. Fun Fact… the brunette singer of Abba father was a German soldier stationed in Norway.

@@somedrytoast2307 The ship was actually carrying a significant contingent of Wehrmacht, SS and Gestapo - the idea was that they would establish Oslo as a base for the Nazi security state that was to come and try capture King Haakon before expanding the occupation to the rest of Norway. Some of the sailors might have been just caught up in a bad time but there were a significant number of die hard Nazi scum on the ship when it sank.

Was this a night dive, or is the water not very clear? Did you feel haunted being at this wreck?
@UnderwaterNerd
@UnderwaterNerd 8 жыл бұрын
Hi, No that wasn't a night dive - but two factors contribute to the darkness. First - the wreck lays in a fjord at a narrow but deep place - like at the bottom of a canyon. If the sun is not very high, direct sunlight would not even touch this place even if there were no water at all. Second - often, there is a layer of freshwater on top of the saltwater in the fjord. That blocks light as well. At the bottom the visibility was not so bad during those dives

Thanks - I do say it was taken with a GoPro 3 Black :-). If there is enough light, the camera is not too bad. Of course I would not recommend to use the standard underwater housing - but there are some nice 3rd party housings on the market which are rated to bigger depths.

The things that would be interesting to me would be the things that make her look like a ship like her bow or her Stern or her propellers or main guns oh, but they never show any of this stuff in any of these videos, it's just bunch of video of the whole or junk

why did you drink a juice drink underwater? hahaha
@UnderwaterNerd
@UnderwaterNerd 5 жыл бұрын
Because we can ;-) But seriously - it is a long dive and it is important to stay hydrated. In (good quality) freshwater, like in many caves, you can simply drink the water you swim in during the dive. In saltwater, you cant. That's why you have to bring something. Some people use flexible bags with a hose - like camelbaks - others take CapriSun. Done right, you can insert the straw and drink without getting water in it
@clevernamegotban1752
@clevernamegotban1752 5 жыл бұрын
@@UnderwaterNerd I had a feeling it was to stay hydrated I was just impressed you could pull it off without getting water in your mouth. Also I've heard the water in Norway is really clear and clean so why does the video you shot look like the water is murky? How deep is the wreck of the Blucher? If its deep that might be why it looks a little foggy. Thanks for the response!
@UnderwaterNerd
@UnderwaterNerd 5 жыл бұрын
@@clevernamegotban1752 The wreck is in a depth of about 90m. Moreover, it lays in a quite narrow canyon on the bottom of the Oslofjord. So while the visibility itself is not so bad on the wreck it is completely dark.
