capt Mike how are you doing, question can you tell me the difference between almaco jacks, and amberjacks?
@FloridaSportFishing
@FloridaSportFishing 8 жыл бұрын
Closely related, amberjack get larger, almaco jack are slightly more oblong/roundish, with a taller dorsal fin. Almaco jack tend to be better on the dinner table than AJs as well. - Capt Mike

I am using size 3/0 circle hook and wanted to catch big fish about 15 to 20 kg. Is circle hook size 3/0 is enough or do i need to make it bigger for those big fish?
@BoTTomRiG
@BoTTomRiG Жыл бұрын
No matter how big the fish is you always match the size hook with ur size bait to offer the best natural presentation for the best bite you can catch the biggest fish on the smallest hook I’m pretty sure captain mike feels the same 🤙🤙

Hi guys, I see you use live fish as main bait, why do you not use live squid? Live fish are more appreciated from the predators than squids?
@FloridaSportFishing
@FloridaSportFishing 7 жыл бұрын
Depends on target species and venue, we often fish squid when wreck fishing and when deep dropping. Sometimes though, dropping down live pinfish, runners etc gets you the right bites! - Always good to have both. - Capt Mike

Is there always runners on the whistle bouys?
@FloridaSportFishing
@FloridaSportFishing 8 жыл бұрын
No, blue runners are not always there. If you can't find them around the buoys, try trolling for them with tiny bucktails, swimbaits and/or goggle eye sabiki rigs in 5- to 10 ft of water. - Capt Mike

First of all great show... You guys always have good information and its also very exciting... How much space do u leave between the egg sinker to ur hook?!?!?
@FloridaSportFishing
@FloridaSportFishing 10 жыл бұрын
Nicklaus O'Bryan Six to eight feet is plenty, unless you are specifically targeted mutton snapper, which are often very shy, and we may increase leader length to as much as 20 ft. They scare away from the sound of egg sinker bouncing/rolling on the reef. - Capt Mike

Lionfish are not poisonous. They are venomous. The difference is that it does not hurt you to ingest the venom. You just have to be careful to not get stuck by the spines. This means they are not a problem to eat. They are delicious.

@FloridaSportFishing
@FloridaSportFishing 10 жыл бұрын
Christian Ruiz No, as a matter of fact the lighter you go the more action you'll see, but of course there is a fine line between too light. Plus, remember all of your tackle works together, the rod, reel, angler, drag setting, terminal tackle, etc, its not just the line. - Thanks for watching. - Capt Mike
