I'm not feeling the purpose of this film from a story stand point. It feels like one giant ad movie of Disney. It feels like a fan service movie. All the disney princess doesn't feel like they have a real purpose from a story stand point. Kingdom Hearts did that way better.
@magic754506 жыл бұрын
Sherwin Lui I have a feeling they will use random disney movie villians for this, like the shot of her running away from stormtroopers. Or the mouse of the computer as the villian, which will be refreshing.
@sherwinlui57586 жыл бұрын
They could have chosen so many topics that deal with video games. Example: Dealing with developer made(Mario, Snake, Yoshi, etc) characters vs customer made(create your own Avatar) characters. How would a character feel if they are not premade and just being avatar of a customer? The first movie felt like a video game story. This feels like they are borrowing the video game characters for a giant advertisement on their own company.
@maplenerd226 жыл бұрын

@wills45796 жыл бұрын
TheKennethRyanShow true
@carsonsmith26806 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure that isn't true at all though. Rapunzel only was able to do what she did in her film because Flynn came into her tower and escorted her to the castle. Without Flynn there would have been nothing. Flynn = Freedom for her. Literally escorted her to all the places she wanted to go. Did we watch the same film? She wasn't the best person to deliver that line. They gave the line to her because she is more recent and very popular among the Disney princess line.
@TheKennethRyanShow6 жыл бұрын
Carson Smith You can say the same about Mulan when her love interest saved her life hy not killing her when she was exposed as being a woman in disguise as a man. The whole point here is once Rapunzel got out of the tower she didn't ask much for Flynn. She was being independent the whole time even helping FLYNN by healing him with her hair. Go watch Tangled again mister.

J D its not about whether the men did or did not help save the day as in most cases they do. The trope is that the Princess are written that way. They are made to be damsels in distress to further develope the mans character as the hero/protagonist.

But it's not just poking fun at the trope of the damsel in distress. It's saying that every Disney princess is made a damsel in distress by the existence of a male character. If this was still 2D Disney, I'd say the joke makes sense, but after Tangled, Brave, Frozen, and Moana, I don't think anyone is saying that Disney makes damsels anymore. Because Rapunzel is delivering the line and saying that being wrongfully overshadowed by male characters is the ONLY thing that unites them, they're tearing down the progress they have made in developing positive male roll model characters in their more recent films.

LOVE THIS!!! Just some thoughts: - this makes me more excited for the other properties in the film (Star Wars/Marvel/Princesses) than actual Ralph and Venelope, like that first scene in the trailer was bland to me - 1:40 while the Princesses look amazing (!!!), I hope they explain why the already-animated characters like Moana, Anna, Elsa, Rapunzel look different. Their facial structure seems altered, which is expected with the other princesses bc they have never been CG-animated, but Moana and the other Princesses already have models they could/should have used. - Pocahontas looks a little lighter-skinned Still love it tho!!

micah white What I got from the line is that, no matter how crucial or not the men in these pincesses life's were at a given moment, it does not mean ALL their problems were magically fixed. It is implying a story following the original narative. This is especially true for the princesses with canon sequels (Ariel, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, etc).
@pingvinererkule6 жыл бұрын
I have to agree, my main issue about the trailer is that it lacks everything that made the first movie so great. The first movie had those little gamer-jokes and candy-jokes, but the story and characters were so strong that they could stand on their own. Here, ALL I see is one internet-joke after another and zero story or character. Vanellope and Ralph really just feel like the hosts of the movie, rather than the main characters. Did the trailer make me wanna watch the movie? Well, yeah. But for the princesses and the internet-jokes, which is far from the same reasons why I loved the first movie. About the the Princess clip, I really just took it as a little joke about the generalization of the term "Disney Princesses", like for alot of people, when they hear "Disney Princess", they automatically think "damsel in distress", which is too simplified concidering the fact that many of them are way more nuanced than that.

Le sigh.... More feminism in another movie.

I think that the feminism in the dressing room place (for the princesses) was sarcasm to all of the haters that assume that all of the Disney Princesses get saved by a man (Rapunzel even said that people assume so)

Grace's Head Bobbing from 1:18 - 1:38! Adorable! LOL

The product placement was obnoxious, especially after the carefully crafted world of the first movie. And the feminism was horrible, exactly what I've been dreading since the scene was reported on so long ago. Excellent reaction, though, Grace.

Oh my gosh I loved Pocahontas hair and Ariel’s brief appearance. But @gracerandolf face illuminated was the highlight of the reaction.

Completely agree with your feminism comment, that said, the Disney Princess look great, I loved Pocahontas's hair as well -- it has built-in slo-mo wind machine!
