The fact that Sonic has the ability to lose rings even outside his game is pretty interesting. Meaning it’s not just a game mechanic, it’s just how he works. He basically has an extra life to lose, even when he’s not in his own game! As long as he collects his rings back he’s good! That’s probably why he was the one to do the ad in the first place, come to think of it. That safety net, along with being the fastest thing alive would mean he’d be extremely hard to truly kill, even outside his game.
