Fantastic. I'm binging on these videos right now, I find them entertaining, educational and I love your comments throughout.

Haha! My style has evolved quite quickly, so you might notice a difference as you go further back. But there's an 11 part virtual pinball build earlier that I'm still very proud of 😁 But I can't watch the early stuff any more, makes me cringe 🤣

I had an issue with a 4 switch woody I rescued from a skip, where I got it to a stage where it would only sometimes work. The pins on the ICs were dull so I cleaned and buffed them, as well as cleaned out the sockets, but it was still giving issues. I found that if I turned it on and it didn't work, just removing and reinserting the 6507 would make it work. I ended up swapping out all 3 sockets for new ones, cleaning all the soldering pads before fitting the sockets, and it hasn't given a problem since. Sometimes those damn intermitent faults can be really annoying, but when you solve them it's very satisfying.

What amazing is how much plastic was used in these consoles. You can downsize the console to half the size to just accommodate the main board.

Couldnt you test the legs of the suspect chip with multimeter and see what was going on with it? Compairing to the working one. It could be possible that the leg that may be shorted isnt really used and can be disconnected and it will work. Or it carries voltage or even ohms through to the leg. You could possibly supply it with that and it would possibly work again? Just a theory honesty. And a bonus for you if it worked. Awesome videos on you list.

Greetings, friend here again, this time I dusted off my six lever VCS, light sixer, the atari in question turns on, gives video on the screen, but after three minutes of seeing the game on the screen, it loses the image, they seem as if it were blurred, the pixels of the figures in the game are dropped until the game is completely unviewable. I uncover it, check the voltage regulator and it shows me 5.1 volts on the output pin. I understand that it has to show 5 volts on the output pin, but in my atari it shows 5.1 volts on the output. I ask you, is this regulator good or bad, will this be the cause of the problem with my atari that the video of the game goes off the screen as I explained above. Please, what answer do you give me? Or rather the problem of my atari will be a malfunction of the chips, for example one of these, RIOT, CPU or TIA.

What in the heck did that person do with the pads on trash bag, because they certainly didn't use a soldering iron (well maybe if they fell asleep while trying to solder and left the iron on each pad).

Cheap soldering irons can be very hit and miss. While it's not a $5 special, I did pick up a SCHNEIDER 5-50 watt soldering station at harbor freight for $50 (not exactly cheap, but not expensive seeing how you can easily spend a few hundred on a soldering station).

Greetings my friends, I need to know if an atari 4-lever rf modulator is compatible with an atari six-lever light sixer, if I mount this rf signal modulator from my atari 4-lever to my atari six-lever it will work fine, that is they are compatible components for both models of atari, please reply, I need your help, see you later my friends.
@MoreFunMakingIt2 жыл бұрын
I'm very sorry, but I can't say for sure. I've not worked on a 4 switch before. It's probably likely they would use the same unit.
@renilddavidesisrivero24912 жыл бұрын
@@MoreFunMakingIt OK, I'm asking because I'm still working on my 6-lever atari, I've already managed to get the atari to have an image of the space invaders game on my tv, the problem was the aunt, as you told me, but the image it gives me now on the television it is distorted, and checking the rf modulator I realize that it has a broken nut, the same one that has the modulator inside, so now I put a 4-lever modulator on it and now the image that it gave me of the space invaders game is no longer there, My question is if this modulator that I put on it is not compatible with the one with 6 levers, what do you think?
