Don't look Down! High Consequence Trail Exit - King of the Hammers 2024.
We follow our good buddy Alec owner of ‪@roXdawg‬ up one of his legendary trails. I couldn't help but feel like he was testing me and my abilities, putting me on sketchy side hill, off camber lines with a 400ft drop. to finding my self trying to follow him up an insane loose and longest vertical crack I have ever been on. Hard core rock crawling during the King of the Hammers is how life should always be.

Last year at Trail Hero, we were going into the tunnel as you were coming out of it, I saw Jess and screamed ‘ JESS’ and she raised up and waved at me . I’ll never forget it! My son texted me later and told me you had an organized trail ride and get to the tunnel but I was broke down with an axle shaft at the top of Nasty Half.. Love you guys!!

I’ve said this before but I really like the way you describe what you’re doing and making great points. Noting the difference between consequence and difficulty is a big thing. A lot of Moab is relatively easy but it’s also a lot of high consequence as well.

That is legit dust!. This year it rained before the event so this was only about 30% of the dust that usually happens. 100k people come through in 2 weeks on that lake bed. and it just becomes a missive fart cloud of dust.

Couldn't agree any more. I have a perfectly good helmet behind me and shoulder straps I should have had on. It just wasn't a massive obstacle that I usually safety up for and it completely slipped my mind until I saw the risk of what I was in witch was unfortunately too late to stop and put as it would have put me more at risk mid way through that section. But during the edit I chewed my self out many times for not gearing up and will make sure I do next time.

Dude. He is one of the most entertaining rigs to watch on the trail. he not only has a entire extra box of tools to use on the trail with what his rig can do. but he has learned to use them in a way that is hard to understand. Pushing yourself up an obstacle that doesn't have traction. that trips me out everything me doses it.
