The first car is an Ople Manta, it was built to take on Ford and all of the other contenders to the world rally championship in the late 1970's coming into the early 1980's. Unfortunately for Ople and fortunately for the rest of the world and motor sports Audi scrutinised the rule book and discovered that the rules did not state that 4wd cars are excluded from competing and they went on to make their world beating Quattro, shortly after the top manufacturers followed suit in order to compete and surpass Audi. This was the birth of the European Group B which ended in less than 10 years due to vehicle safety and spectator intrusion on track.

Bit late but this week's challenge is another time attack so still relevant. Don't go over ramps, just closely miss them and the humps on the dirt section - you can't accelerate when in the air. Just this will shave 2 seconds.

i think the car when making a jump it shouldnt stay in the same position untill landing, the air and engine weight would slowly tilt it forward or something like that, now it kinda freezes in air until landing it looks bad.... also i think huge improvement would be to add some bumps on the road to see the suspension working, it would fit this game

The car he used is a recreation of a beastly classic from the old group b days. Weight distribution was incredibly important so it's actually pretty accurate. Other, heavier cars tend to nose dive more. As for suspension, there's a track in the game that's a mud oval. Very bumpy 👍

I couldn't agree more. Watching folk racing / Rally cross and of course plain rally growing up, I really want more options for plain racing in Wreckfest. Not to take anything away from the wrecking in Wreckfest, but the Folk racing part is my cup of tea.

There was one race I played on this game. The only way to win was if the AI in lead crashed. I had to race over 50 times and my last match before giving up the AI crashed giving me first place.

I figured it out the top guys are going around ( to the right of ) the jump & running on the ( right ) side of that little woop-de-do ( 3 small jumps in a row ) section, I took off about 3 sec. trying those tricks, but 55 is still a few seconds out of reach for me ! I'm still in auto mode so maybe switching to manual transmission & messing with the tune-up might help ! Also I bet a wheel set up would be a big help.... especially in a track with long sweeping turns ✌😎 These tournaments are really helping the game stay alive... I do wish we......... ( console players ) could get some mods like the P.C guys ! Good luck & thank you for the video.....

word of caution to those thinking of buying as an alternative sim..using cockpit Yeah it does but imho the way it's currently implemented is pointless in all formats for competitive online play and especially for players using VR, because there is no way to enforce it for all players, meaning that if you use cockpit perspective you will be at a huge disadvantage to other player who are not because the the visual effects of the damage modelling obscurring the viewpoint will only impact on you...My freind was really exitied about this title from people they know at work, but after i explained this to them , they are no longer buying this game, because not having at least a host option to enforce the visual perspective, completely destroys the realistic immersion of these effects, and i would say the same thing to anybody thinking of buying this as an alternative fun but realistic simulator of destruction/demolition derby racing... it's not a fair EQUAL experience if you choose to play it through the cockpit camera, personally havn't played this again for months now and i feel let down by not having these imho obvious restrictive options

The cars look like they have no weight to them. 20 seconds into the first race, *literally 20 fucking seconds* and the white/red car on the left already flips like it's made out of cardboard. And then the first big jump he does his car lands like it's a piece of freaking plastic. I mean, I'm no expert, but even in Flatout 1 and 2 you couldn't jump from a ramp going full speed - there was a high chance you'll have a very rough landing, and possibly smash your rear end, + windshields breaking/bumpers deforming/etc. Yet there's NOTHING like that in here. The hell? It's all just toy cars driving around scratching each other, until the car takes enough damage for the game to bent some parts of the body or give you some visibile damage here and there. It's like the damage is not connected to how or where you get hit, but to how many TIMES you get hit. Such bullshit man, I'm so disappointed.

@@killerpanda_4543 No I never saw any demo. I heard about it through The Giant Beastcast and looked it up after that. Reminds me of a Playstation series back in the day called Destruction Derby. I love the game and how the developer has kept updating with new cars, tournament mode, and tracks. Hopefully they continue to do so. But to each their own.
