You all should start a TV show! When I saw that speedometer bouncing It too me back to 1982. My first car was a 66 Plymouth Barracuda fastback. This bus fiasco reminds me of my Dad's 48 crown bus, with a sideways 6 cylinder gasoline engine in it. My Dad Mom and Brother with his family took off from Moorpark, California, to Colorado headed to Pikes Peak towing a Ford F250 4x4 They Blew tires the entire way there. on the way back. They lost third gear in Calico out there in the desert, heading to Vegas I thought I was out of the woods, my Dad. and brother woke me up early. We headed out and put third gear in The Crown bus, pulling the transmission in a 110° heat. Never a dull moment with that 48 Crown bus. I was supposed to go on that trip, but my Dad didn't put new tires on, so I stayed home with my wife. 😅😅😅😅

My cousin Jimbo had a 49 Chevy 2 ton truck that he used to haul watermelons out of the fields. During the summer. We (high school boys) would work for him loading and unloading the watermelons. It was hot dirty work but it paid good for the time. Late 60's. Late one season we were on a county road NE of Lake City Florida loading an 18 wheeler. We had worked until after dark maybe 9:00 pm. We only needed a few more watermelon to fill the semi. When we got ready to leave the Chevy truck wouldn't start. Jimbo looked under the floor and the battery was gone. It had fallen out. One battery post had pulled out. Jimbo and the farmer went into the field to look for the battery. They found it and it had been run over by the dual back wheels and it looked hopeless. He put the battery back in connected it up pushed the post back in and told us to get on the truck. He started the truck and took us home. He used the battery for the rest of the summer. After all it still worked. I just found out that Jimbo passed away he was 81. I'm feeling a little sad about that.
