I had no idea the other tools existed! I honestly like the first one you reviewed, it's compact and I work on domestic cars so I rarely go over 24mm on a wrench, it's nice to see new tools like this at least new to me.

Yes thanks Jose, I myself just discovered these tools. I am not sure how long they have been around. I recently hurt my hand trying to loosen a tie rod by connecting two wrenches together. I wound up cutting off one of my good wrenches so I could slip a pipe over it. I started looking for a better way when I discovered these tools. thanks for watching my channel

I enjoy accents, yours included. In case you didn't notice or forgot to mention, the K-Tool adapter has a 21mm hex surrounding the 1/2" drive slot, so you could use a long 21mm wrench on it. What got me interested in this is changing transfer case gear oil on my older Toyota - it is nearly impossible to get to it from underneath (little clearance) the car, but if you go in from the tire side you can get at it, BUT you need a huge amount of length - hence where this comes in - I plan on trying it with this tool and an extra long (aviation) 21mm double-box end wrench at some point.
@richardspaulding5035

Thanks for pointing that out. I always used the 1/2 drive slot. Never gave the hex a thought.

Where it shines is that you can use it with a torque wrench to fasten bolts in tight places. Of course you need to do math to compensate for extended leverage. Great find!

The k-tool extender looks really useful. It could also be used turn an ordinary wrench into a torque adapter. Just fit a torque wrench at 90 degrees to the extended wrench and viola.

Thanks Jim for both your comments. I agree it is a nice tool to have in your box. I am concerned however that if it is used with a torque wrench it could possibly multiply the force to some degree and not give you an accurate reading. Thanks for watching my channel.
@jptrainor

@@richardspaulding5035 It won't change the torque as long as it is at 90 degrees to the torque wrench. If it is in line with the torque wrench then, yes, it will change it. The key is to not change the length of the moment arm, which won't happen at 90 degrees.

The K Tool is a good idea,but they made it the wrong way round,it would need to be on the 'inside' of a spanner to loosen ( imagine a bolt head on a surface) ,and I would not use it to tighten a fastener. There are several reviews on it which share that view,one guy cut his up and welded it the other way round.
@richardspaulding5035
@richardspaulding5035 2 жыл бұрын
The problem Ade is you are not thinking of the use as intended. First of all, let me say I never use it to tighten, only loosen. If you have access to the bolt strait on then you do not need this tool. You can use an ordinary socket and extention. It is perfect when you can only access the bolt from the opposite side like a caliper bracket bolt. check out this video and you will see what I mean. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4fWqoeopJWgeKs.

@@richardspaulding5035 I know when it is meant to be used,I would always use a socket and extension to undo a fastener,but if I could only access with a spanner and need more leverage,which I am pretty sure is the intended use,then it is the wrong way round,it would need to be placed on the 'inside',against engine block,gearbox or whatever. Fine if it extends clear,but it would be more useful overall if it was the other way round. If you check the reviews on sites where these are sold,many users say the same thing,as I said,are they all not thinking right too ? What do you mean by 'opposite side',nuts and bolts work the same way whatever side you come at them from? It would be great for left hand threads of course.....

@@bernardmauge8613 For one thing the tool is designed to loosen a bolt or nut, not tighten one, therefore rendering a torque wench useless. Not to mention if you did manage to use a torque wench to tighten a bolt with this tool you would not get an accurate reading. This would be do to the multiplied force that would be created with the wrench that is offset in the cradle. No offence friend but I am glad you are not my mechanic.

@@bernardmauge8613 My dear friend bernard, I thought the video was quite clear on how to use the tool. It is not made for tightening. It is for loosening stubborn bolts when you have limited access to the nut or bolt only from the opposite side like a caliper bracket. I cannot imagine any circumstance whatsoever that anyone would feel the need to use it with a torque wrench. However, by all means feel free to use the tool anyway you see fit. The breaker bar defeats the purpose of extending a wrench, why not use a socket and breaker bar instead of that adapter?!🤔
@richardspaulding5035
@richardspaulding5035 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question kllgro; I think you kind of missed the point. If you take a close look at the video, I was working inside a wheel well. There was no room to get a long breaker bar in there. There was only enough room to fit a small wrench or small ratchet. By putting the attachment on the wrench and adding an extension I was able to get the breaker outside of the wheel well thus giving me the room I needed to turn it with plenty of leverage. Please take another look if you will. There are lots of situations like that I have encountered over the years. There will be not enough room for a breaker bar or you must use an open ended wrench. One type of repair that comes to mind is when replacing a tie rod end. You cannot use a socket, It must be an open-ended wrench and they are extremely tight. Sorry my answer was so long winded but I felt others may have the same question. Thanks for taking the time to place a comment and thanks for watching my channel.
