Hey man love the videos! Would it be possible you could go over a couple things a little more in depth? I'm interested on how you designed the frame, and how you did the launch control for the motor. Thanks!

+Nathan Braun Thankyou :) heres a link to a sort of build thread /summary i did on the All Terrain Lawn Tractor Forum a while back, which has some stills of the chassis in various stages, as for the launch control ill try put a video together on that soon, it has-been on the to-do list actually because i do get asked about it, theres some explanation of it in that thread also, the CDI unit that contains the electronic elements of the rev control came from OORacing.com who are based in England and specialise in these small engines. Hi mate I’ve got a yx160 is it the same as the 150
@WrenchLife5 жыл бұрын
very similar, the 150/160 are different to the 140, but they are very similar to work on in many respects, jon

Do you have to be at TDC?
@WrenchLife5 жыл бұрын
Top dead centre at the top of the compression stroke part of the cycle. By this I mean that in a 4 stroke, (4cycle), engine the piston comes to TDC twice in the cycle. You should rotate the engine until the point where the engine is at top dead centre, check if both the valves are closed, if they are then do your valve clearance then. if they are still open, rotate the engine crank one full turn, the valves should both be closed now and you can check and adjust the valve clearances

what would you suggest if both the intake and exhaust valve nut became loose and fell inside the motor while riding? I can't find either nut
@WrenchLife8 жыл бұрын
Joseph Krause take the head off man, there is a return channel that takes the oil feed from the head back to the sump, chances are they will have got stuck somewhere in there, I think they are a bit big to make it all the way down to the sump plug buts that's the direction they woulda been heading in, check out the little bastard rebuild videos parts 2&3 on the channel where I strip down and rebuild this engine for more info. them wee nuts need done up really tight! good luck, Jon

(my bet is that they are in the cylinder section of the return channel BTW...😉)

WrenchLife now when I take the head off, the timing chain also has to come off. Is that easy to reset?
@josephkrause52908 жыл бұрын
WrenchLife gotcha thank you. I took off the top hat and the cylinder, I don't see the return chamber that you were talking about. specifically, where is it?
