No one is more dangerous than Omega when his interviews have Japanese subs
"I want to go back to that time when New Japan was in its infantile stages of creeping into the West..." You and me both. That was a magical time, especially for those of us who were watching regularly since NJPWWorld made it possible to watch New Japan live. Some of my best memories as a wrestling fan. Omega talking about "feeling" something and how he didn't for Ospreay, who can do the moves, is interesting. Omega, AJ, Devitt, Ospreay etc. have all been able to do "crazy moves" as the Gaijin Ace in NJPW, but I don't think any of them made fans feel like Omega did. Dude had grown men crying when he won the IWGP title. It's not just New Japan, it's the wrestling industry as a whole. Yes, I will always prefer to see a match with five minutes of choreographed flips than five minutes of chin locks and rest holds, but if you can combine great moves with great characters who I get are "running up that hill", as Omega was in '17 and '18, then you've got magic.

Yes. I love Styles and I think White is a great heel. But Kenny drew me into the stories like no one else has in years. And the Okada vs Omega feud is right up there with the Flair vs Steamboat feud for me. It wasn't just the matches. Those were incredible. But everything outside of the matches just sucked you in as it built up. And I get that Omega can get silly at times. But in the ring he is all business. This interview was the serious Omega that made his matches with Naito and Tanahashi and Okada and others so great. And this is the persona I have been hoping to see in AEW but have yet to find.

Regarding the G1 and mentality comment made me remember his skit with Hangman on how to increase your mental prowess by lending Hangman his copy of Daigo book. Hangman start winning and Omega losing and the next bit was Omega asking the book back. It was so funny.

@@guillemf08 they were the ones that convinced NJPW to only focus on the elite when they were planning on leaving. Remember how it stopped being about Bullet Club and became about The Elite? The company only focused on them. Ignoring LIJ, Chaos, and Suzuki-Gun. NJPW was heavily pushing them to the point where all their eggs were in one basket. Then they just bounced. Cody's idea was to leave. But the Bucks planned to screw over New Japan.

I watched Will in England and New Japan on KZbin, I found Kenny in njpw and went back to watch his old ddt matches and have been a full time fan since, like when I was younger. So to see these two rise to where they are and face each other here is awesome. However the match goes I believe it will be great.

I have still followed NJPW over the past couple of years. But it has been hard. The Evil debacle and that whole sub-faction is just unwatchable. And there have been some great matches. I have loved watching Shingo and anything Ishii does. I have enjoyed the progression of Yoshi-Hashi and Taichi. But I have felt the storytelling has been lacking overall. I hope this can reinvigorate the company and there will be more cross over between the two companies. I want to see FTR in tag league. I want to see someone like Wardlow or Claudio in the G1. I want to see Darby challenging for the open-weight title. And I want to see Dangerous Tekkers challenging the Acclaimed and a Chaos trio (not Best Friends) fighting for the trios belts. Both have big rosters and some people going to the other promotion for 3-4 months at a time could benefit both. Fresh faces and then they get a return pop as well.
I still think NJPW screwed up with not having Omega win back to back years in the G1.

I can't believe Kenny would say this about Will Ospreay. Will Ospreay being the first name along with Ricochet in the renaissance era of indy wrestling to hit the dirt sheets and scare all the old heads that *"wrestling is by gawd! changing"*. Ospreay took a stab at the sky, tearing open just enough room for a one winged angel to jump through and capitalize. So much capital that Ricochet was purchased with an enticing contract and doing as his name implies: Hitting the WWE wall and not sticking, bouncing off into obscurity in the depths of the wrestling industry. To end my tirade, _Will Ospreay might not be the only one who can do flips but he's the one in this new era that turned the attention to what will forever be known as that New Era of Wrestling. Breaking the stigma of what the indies were, are and forever will be._ Oh and Botchmania is the devil, m'kay.

He thinks he deserves to have an IWGP title be nothing more than his vanity belt, he calls other people unstable when he is the least stable leader that Bullet Club ever had, he calls NJPW itself his disappointing child and claims everything in the company is sorely lacking just because it's without him. He speaks with the arrogance of a self-styled god, sounding like the biggest heel out of all four of these interviews, yet he's supposed to be the babyface in his match with Ospreay. Which makes me believe that this is how not just Kenny Omega, but Tyson Smith, really feels about New Japan, because he's been like this for the better part of the last FIVE YEARS. I can't give thumbs up to the idea of Tony Khan strong-arming Gedo yet again to give *him* a title to take to AEW. Ospreay has to beat this guy.
@ivanidlehand9651 Жыл бұрын
I know you're angry and are far from reason right now because Kenny Omega has you so worked up. It's just Kenny has always been a voice from the stands that also speaks from the stage, if that makes sense. So if he's a little bitter it's because he sees the true face of what the wrestling industry truly is. It is why he wants to be the one to change it. Not for just us as the fans or potential talent but for what wrestling can be. At 15:19 is what he envisions. At least for 2023. Again I know you're angry and can't look past that flaw but as time goes on you will see that Kenny Omega and Tyson Smith are one in the same: _Part of what IS Pro Wrestling_
@g-coalitionbrother1729 Жыл бұрын
@@ivanidlehand9651 So what he envisions is taking another IWGP title to AEW to entice NJPW fans to watch AEW and letting everyone know that Will Ospreay is not him? What exactly is special about that? How exactly is that any different from what Jay White's goal would be if he were to walk into AEW and challenge MJF at the next Double or Nothing?

People forget Kenny Omega wasn't necessarily a true Young Lion being that he was in DDT Pro for a long Time so I can imagine he has a different vision for NJPW than Tanahashi who is a Young Lion by heart and he sees NJPW in a bit of a more "Don't Fix what Ain't Broken." I expect from Tanahashi not Kenny Omega
