Just in case somebody asks themselves why not to use the "brazilian leg lift" aka lifting the legs when a person is choked unconscious: In the best case scenario it does nothing. There is no increased bloodflow to the brain and it will not contribute to the person regaining consciousness in any way. The reason: Laying on the back, there is a chance he swallows his/her tongue or blocks the airway in other ways, therefore it is recommened to put the person into the stable side position. Unfortunately the brazilian leg lift falls under some sort of action bias: Doing something actively just looks better and more like we want to help the person. However, as stated, its a bias. And this should be thaught more extensively in martial arts clubs etc.

How do you know these things? Where is the info from? I just wanna know what's the best thing to do in this case

As a first responder trained in first aid, I can confirm this. It’s standard operating procedure nowadays to use the recovery position.

I recently got my first choke out when I visited a 10th Planet gym. Everyone there were super cool, but beasts and just played with me and tapped me a ton! When I went against this one guy who was phenomenal and was just man-handling me like I was a little child, I let him pass my guard to side control, but caught him in a no-gi baseball choke along the way. Of course it was a hail Mary move, and since he was leagues better than me, I assumed it wouldn't work and he'd just smash right through it. One second he's smashing me, and the next he starts snoring on top of me! I was so shocked and I felt super bad about it. I couldn't believe how fast it came on! He woke up several seconds later before I could put him in recovery position and he was cool about it. It's a crazy experience choking someone out! Just goes to show.... don't be stubborn with that tap, no matter who you are or who you're rolling with! (I originally learned this choke watching your videos, by the way! Thanks, coach!)

Isn't snoring the death rattle or "agonal breathing"? Is unconscious snoring always an emergency or very often harmless? Is what defines unconscious snoring as agonal breathing (or a more harmless relative) whether or not it occurs with other injury mechanisms i.e. head or spinal injuries?

As a coach or dojo owner, do you feel there's any need to have a protocol in place for when someone fails to tap and ends up passing out? I can't say that anywhere I have been training captures this on their injury records. And, as a contrast, a strained muscle or tweaked knee is written up.

If it leaves a mark it happened. If not, you get the old neuralyzer treatment from MIB.

What is the side recovery method? I always thought you keep them on the back. Then pump the legs to get the blood to flow.

There is nothing to be proud of using Choke holds in Any Form. People blame him for Not tapping, but whats about The Guy choking him Out? You can regular your power and strength on every Submission you Put in. So you know exactly how much pressure is too much. Expecially when It's for Training. So there is No need to Go that harsh and competetive..
