*WWE (as the usual) dropped the ball on this storyline so hard. I remember how 11-year-old me was so highly invested in the storyline. From CM Punk dropping that infamous pipebomb, to the build up to match at Money in the Bank between Cena and Punk and even the match as well everything from the beginning was just pure perfection. And then WWE decided to kill his momentum by making him lose the Triple H which was super pointless. SMH.*

@mycahjofficial2 жыл бұрын
WrestleMania 29 would’ve been the perfect time for CM Punk to get his ‘Mania main-event. But unfortunately WWE decided to end his historic 434-day title reign in the most disappointing way possible by making him lose to The Rock just so they could have him and Cena go at it again which made that whole “Once In A Lifetime” match complete nonsense.
@GameBreaker10552 жыл бұрын
@@mycahjofficial I mean, he did get his Undertaker match, which arguably WAS the main event of Wrestlemania at that time. I honestly totally forgot how bungled this story was following him winning the belt at MITB because I just think of the pipe bomb so fondly. But looking back at how awesome things were once MITB ended and the potential it had, and then thinking back that he genuinely was out the door until the final moment to commit long term his disdain makes a lot more sense. He came to the event having signed a two day extension to get through the event and didn’t sign a true contract until hour into the actual event. And you have to imagine all the proooses that were made to win him over and that he may have allowed himself to believe that it would happen. Then once he’s signed the dotted line they have him return immediately, have him lose the title in a lame as hell way, and then feud with Kevin Nash of all people. And then when he can’t even get cleared he gets to lose to HHH without much of night. Then he has to back HHH on TV before he wins back the title and goes on his run. And while having a record run more PPVs than not he wasn’t headlining the cards then he gets thrown to the rock, undertaker and Brock. So I can get it to an extent. You were finally ready to leave after being disappointed in not being seen at the top level, probably get promised the world to finally get you to sign on again and then you’re a second tier top guy, getting a run many would envy but always being second fiddle and how much at that point he must have wished he had just left.

Fat chance of that ever happening. However ,Can you imagine the buzz seeing Punk defending the belt NJPW or ROH or TNA or CZW and so on . Have Punk defend the belt at these promotions for atleast 4 months . This would have been the biggest event in wrestling since the debut of the NWO . ... and then they could have had him return to the WWE in time for Survivor series to face Triple H , who has taken it upon himself to win back the WWE belt from Punk. I didn't fully appreciate Punk until the SES era... When he became leader of Nexus and then the pipe bomb I was already a huge fan and went back and saw his ROH matches but even then I was a mega fan of wrestling watching everything.
