I was around 5 years old I was with my dad and mom at the Atlanta airport and I saw Andre walking through I ran up to him and hugged his leg he then picked me up in one hand a places me on his shoulder and carried me to my parents. He was so nice to me.

Andre was really a mountain of a man. I had the opportunity to see him up close when I was a kid. He was really nice as well. He became my favorite wrestler and is still my personal favorite wrestler of all time.

I was 13 at the Denver auditorium I was about 4'3" and Andre walked past me and his head was huge and his hand were massive I just stood there in awe ,then after the match he was in Reece's coffee shop in a horse shoe booth with two tables pushed together and he had 10 -15 plates of food he was eating. He had continuous HGH pumping through his veins due to his acromegaly. It’s not out of the question he grew taller than 6’11. Vince said in a candid interview, he didn’t know if he ever reached 7’4, but that he was over 7’.

My mother in law worked at a McDonald's just outside of wheeling wv in the early 80's and she is tiny woman, nand back the she was 4 ft 11 inches and under a 100 lbs and in walks Andrea he ordered 20 cheeseburgers she was so nervous she only rang up 2 but Andrea the gentle giant just thank her and ordered 18 more

I can only imagine how phenomenal a sight Andre would have been in real life. I was fortunate enough to have gone to WWF Insurrextion 2001 and sneaking down to the front seats next to the aisle as Big Show came out. I will never forget how enormous he looked and even though I knew he was a giant it was not until I saw him in real life that I realised just how larger than life he was.

I was at the pipers pit. When andre turned heel…… ripped hogans shirt off. Challenged him to wrestle mania 3 match…., it was at the old brenndan byrne arena in nj……. Andre in person. Was. Gigantic.

My uncle is 50 he said when he was 7 years old my mother was 20 and she took him to a wrestling event at the Providence Civic Center he said he saw Andre and started crying cuz he was so scary looking in person I guess especially to a 7 year old

Andre was a true giant so he could expand and shrink 4-5" not like a normal person. He was easily 7'2-4" but could shrink to 6'11" when he didn't get enough rest

His passport in 1977 said he was 7 foot 1 inch. Stands to reason he was probably a couple inches shorter by the time he died , because he had major spinal compression issues from acromegaly. In the photo with Wilt Chamberlain on the set of Conan the Barbarian, ( early 80s) he appeared to be almost as tall as Wilt, who I believe was 7 foot 1 or 2 inches

Adrian Street is right about Andre's height . Watch his matches with Ernie Ladd . Ernie was 6 feet 9 and 3/4 inches tall by his own admission . You tell me if Andre looks 6 and 1/4 inches taller when Ernie is looking him dead in the eyes .

Whoever thinks Andre was 7’4” is delusional! Hulk hogan was legit 6’4”, maybe 6’5”, and Andre wasn’t a hell of a lot taller than him! Andre mid to late 80s was no more than a legit 6’8”… in his younger days he was closer to 7.. 6’10” or 6’11”.. still a monster of a man but nowhere near 7’4”.. he’s clearly shorter than wilt chamberlain in those pics while wearing boots with heels!

One black and white vid where a younger Andre said he was 7’1. Vince said in a candid interview on HBO special that he didn’t know if Andre made it to 7’4, but he was over 7’. My best guess… in his prime 7’1-7’2 until his health started to decline.
