Jack Swagger comes to mind. Held the ECW title for a while before dropping it to Christian. He got drafted to RAW and qualified for Mania XXVI Money in the Bank. Took forever to unhook the briefcase, cashed-in on Jericho the following SmackDown, had a forgetable feud with Big Show, before dropping it to Rey Mysterio in Fatal 4-Way where he got drowned out by the “who put the Undertaker in a vegetative state?” storyline. Hey, WWW: Congrats on a really good video; I thoroughly enjoyed it. Your list is pretty spot on, and I wouldn't change a thing. One thing I've always appreciated about your videos is your historical perspective, and how - you being a millennial born in 1985 - you don't ignore wrestling of before your "era" and appreciate the notion of context and how much one as a wrestling fan really needs to divorce themselves from their generational biases in order to understand and truly appreciate the older stuff that set the stage for what we all love now. It's ALL connected in a more direct, linear line than a lot of other people want to admit. One question, though: Have you ever thought about devoting videos (obviously not the Classic PPV series) to anything wrestling-related to the pre-1980s era? Like 1960s and '70s stuff? It may not hold sway with the bulk of the majority of your viewers, but you do have viewers like myself (Gen-X'ers, in my case late-period Gen X) who love old-school history would love to see your perspective on the stuff during these years, much of which not only influenced so much of what we know and love now but how it surprisingly hasn't aged badly at all (yes, I DO know that other stuff of that era has aged badly). Anyway, you're my go-to KZbin wrestling channel. Keep on keeping on.

Some more context on Ahmed Johnson's downfall: He believe Farooq hurt him on purpose and severely injured Farooq in their rematch as a receipt. When Farooq came back from his injury, he showed him what Farooq injuring someone on purpose actually looks like and kicked the living shit out of him. (I don't think the final blowoff match actually exists out there, as Ahmed himself also never mentions it happening in his recount of their beef, so it was probably a house show.) He was absolutely despised backstage, tried to drug Mark Henry (Who doesn't drink or do drugs) got into fights, tried to claim Steve Austin was a racist, so its no wonder his push suddenly came to a screeching halt when every politicker in the building was united in how much they hated this guy.

Some more, recent examples Kane - for the same reasons as Paul Wight - his greatest era was his debut, from the look, the character, the Taker WM14 feud and the title win in his first year. His career really peaked there. Sheamus - pushed too early while he was still green, and then projected as a cowardly heel. Won the WWE title twice in his first year, but was never taken seriously by the fans. A ‘career in reverse’. Alberto Del Rio - again, pushed to the moon with a Rumble win, MITB win, two WWE title reigns in his first 15 months. The bloom soon wore off though.

Monty Brown he was over in tna yet when he went to wwe he fizzled out quicker then a dollar store sparklers.

To be fair that could be said about a big majority of the WWECW younger talent.

What's not to like about Monty Brown? He had the gift on the mic, he had THE LOOK, and most importantly...... he had the POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCE! PERIOD!

Ivan was the "Russian Bear". Nikita was the "Russian Nightmare". Glad to see Nikita on the list. It was the first name that came out of my mouth when the video started.

Great video. I was just thinking of this. People that peak too soon in sports, wretling, heck even jobs.

My issue with Big Show is how much he let himself get out of shape many times in his career especially from 2003 until his late 2006 release.

The Iron Claw was sooooo good! It’s so sad though, I couldn’t help crying during the movie. So many tragedies in one family. Thankfully Kevin survived all of it.

Too lazy to scroll through comments so someone probably pointed this out, but Nikita was the Russian Nightmare. Ivan was known as the Russian Bear.

Early Bloomer: Ken Shamrock, his first year in the WWF was great. After his KotR crown and feud with the Rock, he was done, just a stooge in the corporation.
@ONShypnos6 ай бұрын
I don't think you can really call Shamrock and early bloomer though, given that he'd been wrestling on and off for nearly a decade before he went to the WWF.
@RealAlphaDrum6 ай бұрын
@@ONShypnos But when committed to pro-wrestling, he peaked early, and that was it. His career was really only 2 1/2 years and anything outside of his WWF run was forgettable and minimal at best, because of his minimal participation.

Big Show, or Paul Wight, had a really good match with Randy Savage and then with Ric Flair. Later in the WWF I thought his best matches came very early in his time there, one against Mick Foley and another with Triple H. There's a couple of notable matches after, but he had pretty much done his best work by the year 2000.

Man the bit about Ahmed Johnson makes me hope someday we do get a full video of his entire run in WWE
