Love the setting videos, think like a setter, climb like a setter. The beta bank grows each time. Thanks for the constant psych boys.

The left of the volume poses the question: How often can you drill screws into a volume before it breaks :D.

Same 😂
@jonnes__46575 жыл бұрын
very often :) Not the volume breaks. Only locally the screw wouldn't get fixed. .

Superb editing & creative filming. Nice how you let it be so quiet too as Nikken expertly pieced out route. Has to be hard to not comment, but you only did to ask question on ‘our’ behalf, perfect! Greatly appreciated precision of N’s explanation of setting (some of that is great editing) and I didn’t know that warming up helps not only w/ injury prevention but soreness afterwards! Thanks for definition of ‘“set screw”...super thoughtful as always. THANKS Eric & Nikken! 😻

Congrats on Gotlands, Nikken! Love the route setting videos, Eric. I don't often recognize lyric-less songs, but this one was used when Kajsa was working a cave problem in a previous video. The flow of the song is perfect for climbing.

When you set these routes, do you think about injury risk? Like, with the top hold on the left, I would‘ve expected loads of people to slip off and hit that small triangle with their knees, shins or teeth. With the top on the right, there‘s less risk. But did you take that into account?

Thanks for showing this setting. Nice to see the work it takes (even from a skilled setter) and thought that can go into it.

14:24 wouldn't it be good to move the right foot higher? so you can step high with left on the triangle and can avoid this super awkward jump
@fivetwoeighty70125 жыл бұрын
A foot (maybe just a box, or another big yellow sloper volume) out left where he smeared with his left foot would fix that.

It looks like you can break the beta by stepping on the yellow holds maybe? Still cool to see the thought process from beginning to end!

It’s unlikely as the three volumes together cause you to go into a side pull layback position, which turn your hips in the opposite direction, making it hard to step your feet out right

Decent, interesting video about the setting process but I wish I could watch it with subtitles and the audio off. Nikken's HRT speech is becoming more and more pronounced and I find it intensely grating. Even Emil has started talking more this way too. Enough!!!
@philaeew48665 жыл бұрын
Hm. I'm neither a native English speaker nor do I speak any Scandinavian languages, and I actually find him very easy to understand, especially since he speaks comparatively slowly. Adding subs is usually community work, but I'm really not sure it's needed here.
@frfr3355 жыл бұрын
@@philaeew4866 Ah no, you misunderstand me I think! I'm a native English speaker too and I can understand Nikken perfectly well. It's just that I find his intonation really irritating with the HRT on every phrase spoken. It's not personal - I think he comes over very well and his enthusiasm is to be applauded. It's just his speech that irritates me and the fact that it seems to be 'infecting' others in the team. Hence my content about watching it with subtitles so I could turn off the audio.
