It's Raw vs Nitro! The date is 2.26.96, WWF Raw is on the USA Network while Nitro is airing live on TNT. It's time to once again relive another monday night ratings battle!
WCW Monday Nitro and WWF Monday Night Raw went head to head in a television ratings battle beginning in 1995. With Nitro being a live show and the WWF presenting taped matches on Raw, Eric Bischoff would sometimes give away the WWF results during the live Nitro broadcast. This is exactly what happens on this week's show, Eric gives away every match result before Raw even goes on the air.
We also get to see some big names in action this week including Sting, Hulk Hogan, Diesel, Yokozuna and Ric Flair. A historic promo also takes place on WWF Raw where Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels find out that their WrestleMania XII match will be a 60 minute Iron Man matchup.

The little old lady yelling at Bubba reminded me of the first event I saw with the promotion I was training with. A little old drunken lady actually climbed up on the apron during a match to cuss out one of the wrestlers. It was some high quality entertainment.

I always love hearing Al Snow Explaining how the Avatar gimmick worked back to the person giving it to him and Al clearly confused at the dynamic. "Like I'm Avatar (an Avatar) a character/persona adopted by a person to take on a challenge or such thing, but I come out in the mask then take it off to wrestle?? That should be reversed a Mear man comes to the ring; then puts the mask on thus becoming an avatar in order to fight the match, but no you want the opposite. Mask for entrance, mask off for match?? I'm watching these in 2022 playing catch up. I was 10 years old when this was all going on. A loyal WWE kid because of The Undertaker. It's crazy to see how Hulk Hogan abused his power. Even after hearing about it in subsequent years after. Love the videos and just wanted to say thanks for the great content.

Nitro had such better lighting than Raw, which looked too washed out and evenly lit. Nitro had a darker tone with a lot more contrast, and it gave the wrestling an edge that Raw lacked in its cartoonish presentation. 5:40 - just look at that comparison.
