He was stuck in the midcard after returning and it gave him a much needed character change, a character change that was fresh and brought him championship gold again. For Shawn Michaels, it's another iconic feud. For Y2J, it made him one of the very best in WWE. What did you think of this feud?

I loved this feud so much. This is perhaps one of the last great feuds of the Ruthless Aggression era. Jericho's transition into being a heel was quite compelling and I just loved the depth in the story. This IMO was the best feud of 2008.

Edge vs hardy again was good not great 5. Taker vs hbk not a feud it was 2 great wrestlemania matches 6. Punk vs cena could have been great but Vince botched the summer of punk by having him come back too early 7. Majority of that rivalry sucked. It was a crappy movie with a great ending I remember Reflection. Jericho vs hbk last great feud I was mistake. The last great feud was punk vs hardy a feud with no complaints book to perfection

In 2008, we had two extended feuds, Undertaker Vs Edge on Smackdown was tremendous mainly for the match quality but I would say that Chris Jericho Vs Shawn Michaels on Raw was the better feud in terms of storytelling and it felt much more personal than their 2003 feud. I would say that the evolution of Chris Jericho during this time was amazing, he went from being the smiling, happy go lucky longhaired rocker to a downright evil villain with short hair wearing dark suits who wanted to not only eclipse his boyhood hero but destroy him to show everyone that HBK was nothing more than a liar. These guys were the last holdouts of the old school style of extended feuds and living proof that long form storytelling can still work in modern day wrestling

Imo Y2J was always Shawn's greatest rival as they're both on the same level in terms of both technicality and work rate. What began in 2003 as a healthy competition turned into a twisted obsession is 2008 with both men willing to sacrifice everything to get back at each other. Now, that's some amazing long-term storytelling right there.

The thing which interests me most is that the feud started because of Shawn ending flair's career, batista got his kind of revenge and then it was about hypocrisy vs Shawn's bit altruism. In the end it made Jericho a bigger heel and was ground breaking ceremony for Jericho's legacy which he now destroys on weekly basis on AEW dynamite.

Yeah to this day, I never fully understood why they involved Chris Jericho to get into Shawn and Batista business like that. I mean I get that they were pushing him to go heel but I wish they would have found a better way to do it. Chris Jericho was the IC champion, he should have had better things to do. Him and Umaga would have had a decent rivalry. They could have came up with a decent storyline and at One Night Stand, Umaga could have won the International Championship and Y2J took it out on HBK the next night or something. I know Umaga was helping Vince McMahon around that time but that's my point. He could have did that with Umaga and not interfering with two high class performers.
